HELPPPPPPP!

DF and I will be headed down to the world with my 2 children in july, while we are there we will be having a memories DFTW, the kids will be with my parents for 1 precious night so that we can celebrate our marriage.
we wanted to do a signature on this night (we are staying in kidani village, but will have a rental car). First off, I should say, that we have not done any of the signatures yet.
We were going to stay close to the villa ;), and eat at jiko, however the menu at CG (mmmmmm sushi) really appealed to both of us along with the fireworks.
But the CG reviews have been so negative lately.... would narccossee's be a better choice ?

Also, for later in the trip we have YS booked, but FF reviews are haunting me, the review pics are amazing, which one would you pick?

also..... anybody done the wanyama safari ? how was it ? was it worth the $$ ?

If you are looking for a more romantic meal to celebrate, CG is not the place IMO. It tends to be pretty loud and is the most kid friendly of the signatures. It's nice and the fireworks are great from there, but it doesn't scream romance to me. If you are looking for a quieter meal, I would go with either Citricos or Artist Point (assuming that V&A isn't in the budget).

FF is one of our favorites. We like it better than YS. If you want a really good steak head over to Shula's at the Dolphin. It doesn't take the DDP and there really aren't any kids, but it is very worth it and just another option in that area.

I can't comment on the Wanyama Safari just yet. We are planning to take it on our next trip, which will also count as our Jiko meal for the trip. My girlfriend and I are both looking foward to trying it (I also plan on proposing at some point durring the safari, dinner or shortly after, just haven't decided when).

Narcoossee's would be a WORSE choice!!

If a more quiet meal is what you are after, I'd suggest Shula's or Blue Zoo. Il Mulino also if you like Italian.

If quiet romance dosen't really matter, California Grill is just fine. And Flying Fish is one of our favorite restaurants!!

thanks everyone !

the menu at artist point looks great to me, but this is another restaurant that has been getting horrible reviews, not too sure what to do yet, would love some more opinions ...:confused3

If you are not on any Dining Plan, or even if you are, I would strongly suggest Vaictoria and Albert's.

You also can't get too involved in peoples opinions and reviews. There are a million reasons why someone may or may not like a certain restaurant, and for all we know it has nothing to do with anything that has to do with the restaurant itself. The best way to figure out where to go is to narrow your choice down to a few, read the menus and go to the restaurant that is most appealing between food and atmosphere. If everyone based where they eat on reviews, no one would eat anywhere (except maybe V&A's).

The only place at WDW where you are very likely to have a quiet, romantic meal is Victoria & Albert's.

If you are not interested in going there (honestly, a three course dinner with wine at any signature is going to be reasonably close to the main dining room price there) you are better off at a "signature" that does not accept the dining plan, although you are not guaranteed quiet anywhere. One of the worst instances of parents encouraging unruly kids in a restaurant that I have seen at WDW lately took place at Bluezoo. One of the worst examples that I read about here took place at Citricos.

If you're not hung up on the quietness and romance, any of the signatures will have some pretty good food.

Do you & Dh like steak? If so Shula's might be a good choice. I think it's one of the quietest restaurants on Disney property.
FYI: It is located in the Dolphin & I think they charge for parking? Maybe someone can confirm that....

this is true, the menu's are a great tool, i have the WDW dinning app on my iphone, however, it doesn't tell me about the restaurants atmosphere nor the recent quality of the food, for this I have to rely on my DIS friends , although they have different opinions, i figure if i get enough opinions there will at least be a majority :lmao:

thanks everyone :grouphug:

Try the "wine room" for a quieter experience if you are really interested in California Grill. Of course, there is no view of the MK fireworks from the wine room. You'd have to go out on the observation deck to see those. And as usual it all depends on who is seated in the "wine room" with you.
