honeymoon meal decisions...help!!!

Hello again! Ok...since it is just a couple of days for the 180 day advanced reservation date for our honeymoon ...I am trying to finalize where we want reservations to eat and I need some advice . We have purchased the dining plan with our package, so we are getting 6 table service meals a piece. We already have used 2 a piece for the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Review our first night there. Now we are left with 4 table meals a piece...I have narrowed our list down a lot, but there it is still pretty long . Will you all take a look at it and give me some suggestions please? Also, we can probably afford a couple or meals ourselves without the plan and a couple of places are also listed in Birnbaum's as snack or as having other meals that we just can't use any of our dining plan meals with, so please give suggestions...the only time either of us have been to Disney was with our high school bands for a couple of days.

I can tell you a couple that you shouldn't miss - O'Hana's dinner (if you like a "tropical feel" and it is all you can eat, which may, or may not, be a good thing) and Le Cellier (DF and I NEVER miss this one!) Tony's is nice, but a BIG tip, go for lunch. It is much cheaper if you are going to pay out of pocket. I don't know if I would use a credit for this one, though.

...DF is what you might call a "carnivore", so he loves the steak there, too...

I just ate at Boma and it was VERY unique. I thought it was a bit pricey--but if you have the meal plan AND if you are staying there you should definitely do it! Dh and I both really enjoy the Italy restaurant. I really enjoy the japanese restaurant but swear that i always come out of there hungry...if you like japanese, especially sushi, I highly suggest using one of your pay your own way meals at Kimonos over at the Swan. I definitely vote for 1900 Park Fare...we LOVE their breakfast and we had our rehearsal dinner there and both meals are EXCELLENT!

The only recommendation I would make is do the Liberty Tree Tavern CHARACTER dinner!!! It was SOOO much fun for my DH and I while we were there! He absolutely loved it and insists that we go there the next time we are down there!

I have to admit, I was glad NOT to see California Grill on your list...while most reviews are wonderful for this restaurant...we thought it was really horrible and a huge waste of money.

We liked Spoodles (at the Boardwalk) better than ESPN, but it was a bit heavy for lunch. ESPN was good for a quick lunch (we shared a sandwich and fries).

I would say - Chefs de France - (or Bistro de Paris, same kitchen), although I have to admit, I am partial
If you make an 8:30-8:45 reservation, you can probably get a window seat (you can't request a window seat until you get to the restaurant). If this does work out, you will be sipping champagne while you watch Illuminations, it is sooooooo romantic, trust me

I would recommend Alfredos for a late lunch/early dinner. The food is so good, but you do get full and sleepy from the delicious wine and pasta. It's nice to be able to walk that meal off, if you know what I mean.


I also want to give a big to Prime Time and Sci-Fi for lunch. They are both so much fun, and if you get a good waiter a Prime Time, the experience can't be beat.

Of the restaurants on your list, our favorites are lunch at Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada, breakfast at Boma, and lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern.

We actually ate at all three of these on our last trip, so let me paste our reviews of them below:

Boma – Breakfast – I’m not typically a big fan of buffets, but breakfast at Boma was outstanding! There is so much food, it makes me wish I had 2 stomachs! We loved the variety and the mix of unique dishes and old favorites. Our only complaint was the service was very slow. We look forward to another breakfast at Boma. Food: A+ Service: C

Le Cellier – Lunch – this is another of our favorite WDW restaurants, and we enjoyed our meal here again. DH and I shared the delicious cheddar cheese soup with pretzel breadsticks. The soup is so good that it’s hard not to spoil your lunch with it! I had my favorite entrée, the grilled steak burger with cheddar cheese. This burger is really outstanding, it hardly seems fair to call it a burger! The meat is so flavorful, and the dense bun it is served on is delicious. DH had the petit filet with cream cheese mashed potatoes. He loved his meal, and even raved about the cream cheese mashed potatoes (he is not normally a mashed potatoes fan). Our server was friendly and attentive, keeping our drinks filled at all times and making recommendations. This has become a staple for every trip. Food: A+ Service: A

Liberty Tree Tavern – Lunch – we feel that this restaurant has such a relaxing atmosphere at lunch. It’s a great way to get a good meal and give your feet a rest. I had my favorite entrée—the Colony salad. It was delicious as usual. The dressing is delicious, and the apples add a nice tart flavor. It’s a very filling salad as well. My mom had the soup of the day, which I believe was a chicken tortilla soup. She enjoyed hers as well, though she kept eyeing my salad, and I think she wished she had ordered one as well. Our server was friendly and kept our drinks full. That’s always important when you’ve been in the MK all day! We will happily return here. Food: A Service: A

I think the restaurant inside of the Mexico pavilion, while it may not serve the best food, is soooo romantic feeling

from your list i would choose

le cellier at canada ws in epcot. the food here is superb, its my fis favorite & has a cozy, warm atmoshphere.

sci fi dine inn at mgm is so cool & fun. the atmosphere is worth the trip. we like the burgers & rueben.

ohanas at the polynesian for dinner if you like hawaiian/asian food. the tropical feel of the poly is great, take a stroll on the poly beach or sit in one of the hammocks after dinner & watch the magic kingdom fireworks in the distance.

teppanyaki dining room in japan ws at epcot. the food is good as is the service/entertainment (think benny hanas) we also enjoy bistro de paris in france ws at epcot is intimate & romantic. we liked the quiche, steak & creme brulee.

one that you dont have listed is cinderellas royal table in the castle at magic kingdom, this is one of my favorites for dinner, the atmosphere in the castle is wow.

Hey there:

I live in Kissimmee and I go every other weekend with my new husband.
Here are my favorites:
San Angel Inn at Mexico: very romantic but you will only like the food if you like AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD.
I love the food because I love real mexican food.
Ohanas is always good.....definitely go when you know you will be SOOOO hungry.
Liberty Tree Tavern is my favorite Character Meal. Its a little dark and intimate and Minnie wears the cutest little pilgrim dress.
Nine Dragons is great if you get the sampler for two. You get to taste some of everything and the decor is great.
THE WHISPERING CANYON CAFE: Is really cool and the all you can eat platter is yummy.

I also have to add that La Cellier Steakhouse is excellent. I personally didn't like the Coral Reef...but I am not a seafood person so I got the steak and it wasn't very good. Everyone in our group who got seafood, however, said that it was excellent. I also have to recommend the Brown Derby. That is my favorite Disney restaurant. The food is excellent and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are not in Disney at all.
