Hello everyone, and I hope each one of you had a wonderful Christmas!

My husband and I are leaving for the World in two weeks for our honeymoon! If anyone has any tips/ideas that you think will make our honeymoon that much more memorable, please mention them in this thread. We're both in our mid-twenties, and both first timers at WDW! We're staying at POR, and on the DDP.

Thanks!

Be sure to let the hotel know that it's your honeymoon when you check in.

Ask for "Just Married" buttons at your hotel concierge desk or at guest services at one of the parks and wear them all week. You'll get lots of attention from Cast Members that way.

If you can get your husband to do it, buy Bride and Groom Mickey Ears and wear those in the parks, too.

I'm assuming you've made all of your dining reservations for where to eat. Make sure each restaurant knows you're honeymooning (whether by your buttons or by one of you telling them when you check in.)

You'll have a blast!!!

Oh definitly get the ears! On our last (and first!) trip, we were in line for Alladin's Magic Carpet Ride, the couple in front of us had the Bride and Groom ears. The CM came and escourted them to the front of the line and announced them to the crowd. Everyone clapped and cheered and offered condolences! :lmao: It was really funny!

Good luck and congratulations! You will love WDW. Like I said, our last trip was also our first. I made reservations as soon as we got home for our next trip!

Welcome to the DIS!!! You will have a great honeymoon at the WORLD!

Greetings! I'm MrsDanielle's husband :). I just had to say that I have no problem getting the ridiculous bride/ groom ears and wearing them. I just have to convince her to do it as well ;)

Congrats. I think you may be there during the same week we are.

I have an Illuminations Cruise booked for Thursday, Jan 17th (I think that's the date-I know it's on Thursday night). If you are interested in seeing the fireworks from a boat, you are welcome to join us as our guests. The only ones on the boat will be 4 of us adults only. It's an amazing experience.

I just wanted to comment on how generous of an offer this is! the DIS is a great, friendly place!

And Congrat's to the Honeymooners! Be sure to watch the fireworks and take some time for some special moments for the 2 of you!

Welcome to the DIS boards!!! :wave2: Congratulations on your marriage! I agree with the other posters about getting the bride/groom ears. The CMs (cast members) seem to bend over backwards for people who are honeymooning at WDW. If your budget allows, you should book a dinner at one of the upscale WDW restaurants. A lot of the other DISers say that they love Victoria and Albert's (@ the Grand Floridian resort), Le Cellier (@ the Canadian pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase) and the California Grill (@ the Contemporary resort). If you time it right and if you don't mind eating dinner a little late, you can watch the Wishes fireworks from the California Grill! I hope you and your husband have a wonderful Disneymoon! :wizard:

Welcome to the DIS boards!!! :wave2: I'm glad that you're up to wearing the groom ears! That's the spirit! :thumbsup2 I've heard that most men don't really want to wear the groom ears, so tell MrsDanielle that she is lucky to have a husband who is willing to wear it. Maybe that will convince her to wear the bride ears. ;) Congratulations on your marriage and I hope that the two of you have a wonderful Disneymoon! :wizard:

How nice of you to offer to share your cruise! :goodvibes Can I come, too? :rotfl: Just kidding!

Congratulations! You will have a FABULOUS time!!! Glad you're going to (hopefully) do the bride/groom ears!

Pakey: That's an incredible offer and we're really honoured that you would consider us. Unfortunately that's the day that we're leaving (flight is at 5:30) so we won't be able to make it. But thank you so much :).

tiggerfan1: We've got ADRs for Le Cellier and California Grill (first night that we're there...7:30 or therebouts) as well as Kona, Crystal Palace (dinner) and Chefs de France and we are SO looking forward to everything.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. We've already collected some good info off these boards and are really getting into the reviews and trip reports from everyone.

:cool1::banana: <---- BTW that's how specialk dances...some combo of those two ;)

That's a great dining line-up!! :thumbsup2 Please give your review of these restaurants on the Dining Reviews board when you get back! I've never been to any of those restaurants, so I'm interested in hearing what you think about them.

This is how I dance: :dance3: (:rotfl:)

You will have soooo much fun! DH and I just went in August (his first trip!) for our honeymoon, and we had such a wonderful time!
My best advice is to WEAR THE BUTTONS!!!! The CM's were incredible to us. They would announce us all over the parks when they saw our buttons (coming in at the bag check at MK, at the CS restaurant in Frontierland, getting on the train in Frontierland, at Kona Cafe for breakfast, too many to remember all of them!).
We were also given many CM only pins as well as a free dessert at Kona, and we were asked to be the first on the Safari in the morning. That made DH's entire trip!
They truly did bend over backwards for us. I would go again on our honeymoon in a heartbeat!

We made a point to stay in MK after Wishes while the park cleared out, and it was so neat to sit and watch as the park cleared out just the two of us. It gave us a chance to just relax and be together after a busy busy day.:lovestruc

We also ate our way around the world in Epcot. We made sure to try something in every country even if it was just a piece of candy. We had the most fun there eating, exploring the countries, trying on the hats and watching all of the people.

Also, don't be afraid to be goofy and just have fun! DH played the tambourine with a bunch of women in the Family Fun Day Parade at MK and I was the can-can dancer at HDDR. The whole trip we just did whatever we wanted without worry of looking silly. Why not? We were on our honeymoon, and we weren't going to ever see these people again!

I hope you have as much fun as we did! It is such a great place to go fora honeymoon! I told DH we have FAR better stories than our friends who drank their honeymoon away in Mexico! :rotfl: AND we paid so much less!

Congrats ! Mrs.Danielle!

Take some photos at Grand Floridan resorts, walk along the beach etc after all the theme park visits.

We booked our honeymoon dinner at Cinderella's Royal table in MK theme park, we ended up receiving some gifts at the end of the meal.
