I'm surprising my wife to be with our honeymoon to Disney. She knows we're going to Disney but nothing else. I'm having a hard time deciding where to stay. I'm trying to decide from yacht club, beach club, Polynesian, grand Floridian, contemporary or bay lake. We are staying about 8 days. I was also wondering if the club level is worth it? We are getting deluxe dining plan so we can eat at the nicer places. Thanks for any help.

That's awesome - Congrats.

What a tough choice on resorts. My dream room would be Castle View Poly, but then I'd get bored easily. I need to be on the move and I personally find the Epcot resorts more romantic because I love the walk around the boardwalk and to Epcot. It's so beautiful. Plus, there are so many great restaurants and places for a drink without having to worry about getting back. We had a blast finding the cute little hidden bars at YC/BC and BW.

I've stayed at CL a couple of times and the only time I found it worth the money was when there were 5 of us at Poly. When there's just two of us we were too busy trying out all the fun restaurants and that's without having the DP. Last year we were at CL and had DP and it was a complete waste of money. My son pigged out at CL and never ate his points. I wanted to eat out and didn't want to waste room at CL.

How about a DCL for three or four of the nights. That would add a whole different experience to your honeymoon.

My Honeymoon (Disneymoon! ::yes::) is in August and me and my fiance are staying in the Beach Club! We've never been to the boardwalk, but we've heard so many wonderful things about it! Plus the best part is you can walk into Epcot (prob our fav park) and walk or take a short ferry ride to Hollywood Studios. So you don't have to wait for all those buses to get to all the parks! Just for Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.

I've never done club level, but we're also doing the deluxe dining plan, and I'm actually worried that we will be full all trip from all the amazing food and reservations we have! That said, I don't think there would be any need for the club level. But then again, I've never done it.

Congratulations and have a great time on your Disneymoon! :hyper:

My husband and I did our Disneymoon at the Boardwalk last September, and then went on the Disney Dream. I think any resort you pick would be magical, but some of my top choices were Polynesian or Yacht Club (couldn't get a room so we ended up at BWI). The location was excellent, being able to walk to Epcot and have dinner there, and the park hopper let us go in and out of Epcot as we pleased, even after visiting another park.

Have you looked into the honeymoon registry? From what I've heard, it's changed since we used it last year, but we got lots of contributions on it!

My DH and I celebrated our Honeymoon in 2003. We stayed at the Beach Club and loved the location. We strolled through Epcot (our fav) walked late night and early morning on the BW. It was just great. As far as Contemporary or Bay Lake I don't find it romantic. I feel its always buzzing with very small children because of Chef Mickeys and its close proximity to Mk. Other than Cali Grill for me it doesn't offer much for romance. The Poly on the other hand I find very romantic it's dark and tropical decor lends itself to that romantic feeling. Again a stroll on the beach w/ champagne and dinner for Wishes is so amazing. Love the Poly! O'Hana is a great dinner stop as well as close to GF's great restaurants and CG!
GF is nice to visit but I wouldn't want to stay there either. It just feels a little less intimate than other resorts. Great restaurants, beautiful grounds and spa but lots of loud kids in the lobby.
We are staying at AKV this trip and are excited about staying in DVC for the 1st time. This may be a nice option for you too! Look into renting some points at a great price. I don't feel like CL is worth the money especially w/ the DP. Unless you are not going to the parks and plan to hang out at the resorts you will not get your money worth.

We stayed CL for our disneymoon in 2006 and then again in 2008, both at WL . We had regular dining plan for both also. If you are only looking at CL on a dollars and cents basis it never makes sense. I run my own business and deal with customer service daily, so for me it was nice to have some one cater to me a little bit for once. That said it isn't like they wait on you hand and foot, but most staff recognize you, ask how your day was, how was the park, etc. plus the mystery of using the key card in the elevator was exciting for the kid in me.

Food wise, we used it for breakfast and afternoon break snacks and one light dinner so we could double up a TS for a signature restaurant each trip, so with deluxe dining I don't see the point.

CL is a nice splurge if you can afford it, but I wouldn't do it with deluxe ddp. Congrats on your wedding. I am sure you will enjoy any of your choices. Best wishes
