Honeymoon in Disney

Does Disney do anything special for couples on their honeymoon? Like if you tell the people at the front desk at the hotel are there any perks or whatever? Just thought I would ask. Thanks alot

The best advice I can give, is to not expect anything and you won't be disappointed. There are dozens of people on their honeymoon everyday at Disney, they can't possibly dole out freebies to everyone. Telling them it is your honeymoon can't hurt, but I think you should just pay for everything you REALLY want and if Disney does go above and beyond, so much the better. I don't think paying for a lower quality room than you really want and then hoping for a free upgrade to a better room choice, for example, is a wise plan.

Ditto. That's our plan. When we booked over the phone they placed a honeymoon notation on there, but other than that, we're not expecting anything special.

I think if you say you're on your honeymoon to anyone who asks, "what brings you to WDW" will help. Also, if you ask for the "honeymoon" buttons at the park guest relations, it helps. If you really want to go the extra mile, I'd get the mickey ears wedding hats and wear them around, but that's just the biggest step I'd take. I'd also make a note of it in your dining reservations, too.

My wife and I honeymooned at WDW CBR in 8/2006. I must admit I was alittle disapointed that we received nothing special. They did know at the time we made our reservation as they questioned our stay and noted it on our reservation. Several years earlier I was in WDW for my birthday and when we returned to our room at the end of the day their was a stuffed Mickey with a bouquet of baloons tied to his hand sitting on the bed. This was why I was surprised at no special honeymoon treatment. I must say that our room was a large corner unit with a little porch and just steps from the beach. It may be possible that they picked a nice room for us. When we were at the parks we stopped in the public relations office (all the parks have one) and they gave us stickers with Mickey and Minnie in a wedding dress and tuxedo (Big spenders they are at Disney). The most fun we had and I recommend it for every honeymooner at Disney, in nearly every gift shop they sell white minnie ears with a brides veil attached and Black Micky ears with a tophat. I love her but I refused to wear the Mickey tophat. However (this was the fun part) my wife bought and wore the Minnie veil most of the time in the parks. Everyone, guests and cast members treated us like royalty. Everyone smiled, wished us goodluck, and held doors for us. We did indeed feel special. Give it a try I promise it will be fun. We visit Disney every month, but are looking forward to our honeymoon at Disney after our wedding there in December. I am not expecting anything special, even considering the amount of dough we are spending for our wedding there. Its a huge place, and if they gave something away to everyone who was honeymooning it would add up to big bucks after a while! Oh one tip, take a look at signing up for their honeymoon registry. You can create an account online and your guests can log in and give you a "gift" online. Then when you arrive at Disney, they give you a gift card that can be used for anything on property equal to the amount of money people gave on your registry. Fiance and I are hoping to pay for our whole trip this way!

We honeymooned at Disney and had a few things happen to us. Small things, but nice things none the less. We got quite a few free drinks and snacks (ice-cream, slushies, pretzels, ect...). We had confetti sprinkled on several of our tables at restaurants we had made ADR's at. EVERYONE told us congrats, I'm sure we heard it 10000 times in 8 days!! We were escorted to the front of the line at the Safari in AK and were seated on the next car in the very front. This was cool because the wait was 70 minutes!! We wore our wedding ears and buttons everywhere which I'm sure helped

Hi! We are leaving next week for our honeymoon, and I know I had posted something on the boards awhile ago asking the same question you have. Someone told at the front desk at your hotel (I think it was the front desk) that you might be able to get buttons to wear saying "honeymooners" I don't know if it will work for anything but it doesn't hurt to try. Also the mouse ear you could wear, but I don't know if I could go that far lol. Room wise I doubt you would get a discount or an upgrade. But like I said it never hurts to try, I think when we planned our wedding I used the phase "this is for my wedding, is there a manager I can talk to about receiving a discount?" And about 65% of the time I received one. So it never hurts to try and save alittle money!

We honeymooned in Disney at the Poly, and while it was a great trip, we didn't get any extras. However, we also went back for our 1 year anniversary, and when we checked in at CSR, the manager came out to greet us. They had upgraded our room (2 full beds to a king), and when we got to the room, there were baloons, an anniversary pin, some CSR merchandise and a signed picture of Minnie and Mickey congratulating us on our anniversary. It was so cool, and totally unexpected b/c we hadn't recieved anything extra on our honeymoon. For both trips we had stated the occassion on our reservation. I guess it all depends on the cast member . But I agree with a PP, don't expect anything and you won't be dissappointed. Another PP mentioned the Disney Honeymoon registry - I wish they had that when we went! I think it is such a great idea! Granted it was 10 years ago (almost 11). We stayed at the GF. When we entered the room there was a gift basket with Champagne, fruit, signed picture of Pooh, etc. Also, I have seen them do special stuff for people at Cinderella' s Castle if you let them know you are on your honeymoon.

I will throw another vote for the Minnie veil and the Mickey top hat. We had those for our 20th anniversary trip (yes, we're that old and still love WDW!) and it was a non-stop day of congratulations from guests and cast. DH was also singled out several times for guest participation, which he loved.

As others have said, don't expect the freebies and be totally surprised if they come.

We'll be at WDW for our honeymoon in August and we definitely plan on getting the buttons and the ears! We wore "Just Engaged" buttons in Disneyland (a CM edited the "Just Married" ones for us) and the responses we got from the CMs and characters were so cute.

Personally, that's all I'm hoping for - a few congratulations! Anything else will be truly special. I agree with the theory stated above - not expecting anything extra special will save the disappointment if nothing extra special happens.

We spent our honeymoon at WDW in January 2007 and it was so much fun. We went into it not expecting anything, and we received so much special treatment! We did wear the Bride and Groom Ears and the "Just Married" buttons.

-After checking in we had a message from Mickey and Minnie congratulating us on our phone
-Chocolates and a Card were delivered to our room
-Lots of congratulations from both CM's and Guests
-Free Champagne glasses when we had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table
-Picked to be the 'First Family' at the American Adventure at Epcot
-Picked to view Wishes from the Platform on the Astro Orbiter and then ride the Astro Orbitor after the park was closed.

So you never know what might happen! However, I would go into it expecting nothing more than the wonderful honeymoon you already have planned- that way everything else is just BONUS!

Definitely don't 'expect' anything....but...

We honeymooned at WDW in July 2006, wearing the honeymooners pins on our KTTK lanyards, and I wore my Minnie Bride Ears everywhere. We were congratulated all the time and....

• got mickey shaped glitter sprinkled on our table at LLT
• were put in a IASW boat all by ourselves
• 'picked on' at Hoop de Doo Revue
• made to slow dance while we were serenaded by our waitress at Whispering Canyon (she sang 'Going to the Chapel'...it was very cute)
• got balloons and a signed card of Mickey and Minnie in our room on our second day

We didn't go into it expecting anything...so it was always a surprise when anything happened. I'm hoping that hubby finds a job soon so we can go back for our second anniversary...and you better believe I'll be wearing the anniversary badge (and maybe the bride ears again if I can borrow them back off my niece!!)

Like everyone has said, don't expect anything and if you get any perks it'll be great.

We had our wedding and honeymoon at Disney. We wore the ears and had lots of fun answering questions we got from CM's and park guests.

We got a few nice perks, ride alone in some of the boat rides and free desserts.
The best is when we got picked to be the Grand Marshalls in the MK parade!

My wife and I honeymooned at the Beach Club in 2002 and received a gift basket upon arrival. We also received Champagne and Chocolates when we arrived on our cruise ship.
