Ok, this might turn out to be long. If it does, I'm really sorry.
I've been with my Prince Charming for 5 1/2 years and we're getting married on May 12, 2007. Then we're leaving for our honeymoon the very next day. I told him he can't know ANYTHING about the honeymoon, that I was going to plan it all. The only thing he knows is that we're going to Disney, since that's a given for us.
So far, I have 7 days at Disney World planned, followed by a 4 night cruise on the Wonder :cloud9: That's really going to surprise him!
Another thing, the only times we've been to Disney, we stayed in the value resorts. Now, of course, a honeymoon is a special occasion, so I want to stay in a big daddy resort!
Now, we both LOVE Magic Kingdom, and I was thinking...Why not get a resort that you can see the MK from? And then I thought of the Contemporary. Why not be as close as possible, right?
Well, here's my question. How likely is it that I would get a room with a MK view? Because that's the MAIN reason I want the CR, so I would be really disappointed if we get there, and my request couldn't be filled. :sad1:
Also, if it isn't very likely in your opinion, what other resorts have a MK view (if any) at least of the fireworks? I know the CR isn't the most romantic resort, but honestly me and my Dfiance aren't really that romantic. We DO love the magic at Disney though!
So any help would be SO AWESOME. TIA! :thumbsup2

we are staying at the GF for our honeymoon in a honeymoon room. there are 2 types of honeymoon roms there, dormer rooms and jacuzzi honeymoon rooms. only 2 of the dormer ones (i think) have MK views, but all the Jacuzzi ones, to my knowledge, have MK views, which is what he have booked, so we are guaranteed!

Thanks for the reply. I don't think the GF is really our style. It looks really fancy, we visited it in January. It is very nice though!

I would stay at the polynesian. It's Quiet, romantic and you are guaranteed a castle view ( you have to pay extra). You can see the castle, see the electric water parade and the fireworks! It's beautiful! THe beaches are so nice at night!

I have stayed at the Contemporary tower looking over the magic kingdom and it's very beautiful too, HOWEVER, it tends to get a bit noisy during the evening. The castle is beautiful and it's MUCH Closer. You can hear the music from the fireworks too. ( you can't at the polynesian unless you go to a certain part of the resort).

I have pictures from both if you would like me to send you some. (i also have pictures of the new contemporary rooms) I think the extra money to stay at the polynesian is worth the money. It's such a romantic resort. if that's what you are looking for.

If you wanted to have a bit of romance with the magic kingdom view,(and not the HUGE romance of the poly or grand Floridian) i would look into staying magic kingdom view at the contemporary, but stay on the concierge level. You get the attention of concierge (free appetizers, bottled water, sodas and stuff), and the perfect view of the castle. (pluse you can get a king size bed, the polynesian doesn't offer this).

I have sent you 2 emails with pictures from both the polynesian and the contemporary. hope this helps! :)

You can reserve a Magic Kingdom view at the Contemporary now - but it is expensive. The Polynesian is beautiful. You could get a lagoon view, but again, it is more expensive. But, the views from the Poly beach of the fireworks are amazing.

We stayed at the Poly and I loved it. We stayed Conceirge and the people were WONDERFUL to us. It is honestly one of the best experiences. We had a lagoon view. I would go back and stay at the poly again in a heartbeat!

Those pictures are very nice, thanks! The ONLY thing that has me leaning towards the Contemporary is the view. Other than that, it would be the Poly all the way. I'm still considering it actually, because it has a nice view as well.
I'm just SO worried that I'll get there and get some room in the middle with a parking lot view or something.
I can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone about how rare it is that they'll take my request.
It's really frustrating because I'm trying SO hard to make this trip special for my fiance. He has a really stressful job and I really want to make it worthwhile!

If you book a Castle View with the polynesian you WILL get a castle view, no questions asked. You have to pay a little extra, but you WILL get one. With the contemporary, you have to request it right now. I believe in the near future they will have the same as the polynesian, where you book a magic kingdom view or bay lake view. If you want to KNOW that you will get to see the castle, without a doubt, book with the polynesian. :)

My DH2B and I are getting married at Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian. We also booked a room at the Poly for our honeymoon , we had to pay a little extra but we are guaranteed a magic kingdom view room, so there is no way that we will get stuck with a parking lot view b/c we paid extra for that mk view. hope this help and of course we vote for the Poly. :cloud9: :wizard: :tinker: pixiedust:

Thanks everybody! Guess it's time for me to go search for pictures of the rooms in the Poly, and trying to figure out how much this is gonna cost me!
If you can point me in the direction of some good room pictures, just let me know. Thanks again everybody, for convincing me of this!

Ok, They won't let me post URLs yet because i'm new, BUT if you go to google and search for TIKIMAN2001 it will bring up this really great page about the polynesian!!!

Thanks DisBride!! I tried the link you e-mailed me but it wouldn't work. I did google it though and it worked! Now I'll be busy for awhile.
