Now, obviously, this isn't a set thing, or everyone would lie, and we're not going to go to CRT based on this.

But... I'd heard something about if it's your anniversary or honeymoon, you get free glasses? I was just wondering what the experience with that was.

We didn't get them when we were there this past May. In a past thread, someone said they stopped doing it, but I don't know one way or another for sure. I thought we didn't get them because they didn't know it was our honeymoon until we checked in.

Don't know if it's the same.....but for my wife's birthday on the 25th.....that's one of her surprises. I booked the champagne toast in advance & it's 15bux each if you want to keep the glasses.....7bux if you don't.

DW and I recived them on our 2nd ann. Our friend that was with us on that trip told our waiter. He brought them out with the Princess and they wishied us many happy years. We had no idea that they had glasses like that. We wraped them up with all kinds of cloths to get them home. They are in our china cabinet as I write this. :goodvibes It sure was a magical moment for us.That was 4 years ago. And the magic still flows " here at home and at WDW the most magical place in the world "

Yep, it's the same for anniversaries. If you want to make sure you get the glasses, you have to pay for them. If you want to chance pixie dust, that's fine but be aware we celebrated our 10th at CRT a couple weeks ago and it was very VERY lacking in pixie dust - definitely, no free glasses, no acknowledgment, a screwed up "special order", etc.

We were given them for our honeymoon, but that was back in 2000. Unfortunately, only one made it home on the airplane.

We got them on our honeymoon in January 2007. I had never even heard about it, and it was a lovely suprise to get them during dinner. The waiter joked that my DH had called ahead for a suprise for me. They were all boxed up already, with castle shaped confetti in the box and everything.

Alrighty. Well, it's an extra expense, so we probably won't buy them.

We'll just assume we won't get them (which was really our plan anyways) :thumbsup2

If we get surprised, we get surprised. But, doubtful, seeing as we won't be ordering anything that'd come in them.

We were there on Sept 29 and I had called prior and ordered the champagne toast and the glasses along with the slipper dessert. It was absolutely wonderful. I spoke with Jeannie over there she is the special event coordinator and told here we were celebrating our 7th anniversary and that I wanted to order the toast rather than leave it to chance.

I did have to pay for both the dessert and the glasses however the waiter brought the toast over on a silver tray with red rose petals. We were seated right in the center of the big picture window at a table for two decorated with silver confetti of cinderella's coach and castle. IT could not have been more perfect for the two of us.
Maybe a bit expensive when you think of it but so worth it to make it such a special day where the memories will last forever.

how far in advance did you call to order them?

I ordered them a month out. I had already listed on my reservation that it was an anniversary. I then called and left a message for Jeannie, she called back took the order. I called two days before I left just to confirm. Again, I left a message saying just calling to confirm with the date time etc. I told her in the message she neednt call me back unless there was a problem.
I never heard from her and like I said we arrived and it was so magical. The table was decorated, we had the best table in the room, and the waiter brought both the dessert and the toast right on key at the end of the meal. It was absolutely wonderful and worth every penny.
