Hi we getting married next March and are trying to decide what to do for our honeymoon, which we will hold of until November. For roughly the same cost we can either do:

A: Two weeks at the Beach Club
B: Two weeks at Saratoga Springs & one week on the DCL Fantasy

We have never stayed at the beach club before but have wanted to for a long time.

We have stayed at Saratoga Springs which we loved but the only downside is it takes longer to get to and from the parks.

We want our honeymoon to feel special that is why we are drawn between the two. if anyone has any other or better suggestions please feel free to give us ideas.

I think a cruise for your honeymoon is a good idea as its a bit more romantic then going to the parks etc

Def the second!! I would have loved to have that much time off but we just couldn't swing it. We took 5 days off for the wedding and then a 7-day cruise.

I guess from your post you want to stay at a DVC. Have you thought about OKW. or is WL DVC cheaper than BC/Same as SSR. Not a DVC owner but just a thought. Cruise just sounds like a great thing for a honeymoon.

Definitely the three weeks with the cruise. Not only will you have two fabulous weeks at the parks but then you can both go off the radar on the Fantasy just the two of you. Sounds fabulous!

I would pick the 3 weeks too and I'm sure many others would because its one extra week of honeymoon bliss :lovestruc. However, if Beach Club means that much to you why don't you do 1 week at BC and take the cruise? This is your special time, so you need to do whatever makes you happy. That way you stay at the resort you really want to stay at and go on the cruise which is so relaxing. I have been to the world millions of times and we even moved to Orlando to be close to the mouse because its where we always take our big vacations and as much as we love it and have fun we are beat when we are done. Since we went on the DC, not only was it magical and romantic we actually feel rested when we get off. I hope you have a lovely time which whatever choice you make, either way you will cherish the memories for years to come! ;)

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. We will probably go for the three week option with the cruise. I will keep you posted with our plans.

We really wanted to get married in wdw but with us living so far away and our family it would of been only the two of us that could go. We are getting married at home in Scotland so we can enjoy the day with our family and friends. There will definately be some disney touches and that is why we are going to wdw for our honeymoon. My DF has promised me in the future we will do a vow renewal in wdw so I hope that will happen and we will have the best of both.

I agree with the PP's that said take the 3 weeks! But I think there are other options than settling for SSR.

Are you looking to stay at BCV or a regular room at BC?

For SSR, are you staying on points/renting points, or going thru Disney to book the rooms at rack rate?

If you're staying on points, SSR is surprisingly high in points for what you get (IMO). You may want to compare to see if you could stay somewhere else, like AKL or BWV (some standard view rooms have a GREAT view). Since you're going to be there for 2 weeks, I would definitely suggest a split stay. Like a week at VWL or BLT to be on the monorail, then a week at BCV or BWV to be near Epcot & DHS.

Besides the obvious factor of two weeks vs. three weeks... and you're also getting a CRUISE.... I'm partial to pick the saratoga springs option since...

a. it's my family's home resort
b. it's where my bridal party/parents and grandparents will be staying before my own DFTW
c. I used to work there while participating on the Disney College Program.

also, I don't know if this would be an option... and if you're renting a car at all since you will be on land for so long, but have you considered the tree houses? granted you probably wont need all the rooms/bathrooms but its an experience and could give you more of a secluded feeling :-)

It was no contest for my vote <3 ENJOY your honeymoon!!!

We are not DVC members, here in the UK there is a special promo where SSR & OKW have their rates discounted by 40% and includes the free disney dining plan. This is why we would be able to afford two weeks at SSR with the cruise also. BC & BW are a lot more expensive but do have an edge with the location etc. I like the idea of a split stay between two resorts. We would need to look at the pricing etc as im not sure if how the park tickets and the free dining offer would work with a split stay. Thanks for the ideas

SSR is a lovely resort were we have stayed at before and really enjoyed it. The treehouse villas is somewhere I have never been to see in person but have seen pictures/video. I wasn't sure if you could book this if you were not a DVC member.

You should be able to! I don't recall hearing anything stating otherwise, but I could be wrong. I've only ever stayed here using points with DVC and with doing so, it's the same amount of points as a SSR 2 bedroom... but with the tree houses you get three bedrooms!

From what i've heard with the tree houses, you either love them or hate them. If you're only taking Disney transportation they can be a pain for people since you need to get on an additional bus every time you want to go somewhere.

They are BEAUTIFUL though. I was on the opening team for them and my birthday was their grand reopening and I was one of the first paying guests to stay in one... actually their anniversary of reopening is coming up on Wednesday!! Very exciting!!

It wouldn't hurt to call someone and ask though if this kind of option interests you!
