The one great thing about doing the waterparks is you don't feel like you have to get up early as they don't open until 10!! It was a great day to go because it was a scorcher!
We go up about 9:15, threw on bathing suits and shorts, ate breakfast in the room along with coffee in our refillable mugs and were at Typhoon Lagoon by 10:00. We used the WDW bus to get there.
The first rides we did were the whitewater slides with the inner tubes. They were all great. I think the Gangplank falls was our fav. We had a great time here. The waves in this pool were HUGE compared to BB.
Floating around on Castaway Creek is just so relaxing! The crowds were still so low - most rides we had like 5 riders in front of us! We tried all the slides except the kiddies stuff of course!
I though the Shark Reef was really cool. I went thru it a second time without Glen He's not a strong swimmer and felt uncomfortable with the snorkel. I have done snorkeling before and loved it!
At both BB and TL I did not enjoy the really big slides like Humunga Kowabunga as they gave me such painful wedgies!!
We both prefered TL over BB. We enjoyed the inner tubes better than the mats and there seemed to be less walking some how even with the absence of the chair lift. The huge waves in the pool at TL were so much fun!
For lunch we just ate our leftover pizza from the night before.
By 2:00 we had enough water and sun so headed back to the ASMU.
We had dinner reservations for 6:30 and decided just to hang out at the hotel and relax. For the last 10 days we had been at the parks since early morning till late night and it was nice to just relax and watch some tv.
We walked over and got some ice cream from the food court in Melody Hall. I decided to throw 1 load of laundry in as I didn't want piles of laundry to do when we go back home.
I headed out to the laundry building while Glen relaxed in front of the telly. I took my book with me and sat in a lounger outside the laundry buidling. I was so looking forward to this as I'm a big reader and had not had time to read much since the plane ride down. And in the evenings in the room I felt like had to interact with Glen as it was our honeymoon!
While I was sitting there in the sun enjoying my book the quards decide they are closing the pool due to the weather. Looked to me like a perfectly sunny day with black clouds WAAAAAY in the horizon. While I guess the quards know Florida weather better than I do. They made me move up to the bench by the laundry building even through I was not swimming at all! Okay fine! I was sitting on the bench reading and listening to the quards talk about how nice it was to get paid to sit there! The one quard was telling the other how he was going to drop his girlfriend because she's not any fun anymore.... Well I guess young guys are the same everywhere! It did finally start raining as I was heading back to the room with my clean load of laundry.
We showered and got dressed up for supper. We had reservations at Lee's Lakeside in downtown Orlando. We had been given a gift certificate for $80 by my coworkers as a wedding gift.
We found it quite easily. It was nice to see part of Orlando that wasn't touristy. This is a great restaurant! We were given complimentary champagne, a chocolate rose and a strawberry cake for dessert. We both had French onion soup and I had salmon. Forget what Glen had. They bring you a basket of buns and little mini carrot muffins. It was an awesome dinner with a gorgeous view of the lake. The lake has a trail around it and we could watch all the folks walking their dogs, jogging, etc. The entire meal came to just over $90. So we had to pay about $12 out of own pocket as the gift certificate was only for $80. It was well worth it.
We tossed around the idea of going to Citiwalk at Univerisal or Pleasure Island or catching a late movie. However we decided just to head back to the hotel and call it a day.
