My fiancee are planning on spending our honeymoon at WDW. We're also debating whether or not we should take a 3 day cruise.

Now, I don't want to sound snooty or anything, but being that this is our honeymoon, one of the deciding factors will be if we can have a table for just the two of us on the cruise. Is this possible? Can you request it when you book, or are all tables for 4 or more?

Thank you so much!

We went on a cruise as part of our honeymoon and we did NOT have a table to ourselves. We were actually set with two wonderful families that we enjoyed getting to know.

If the private table is a make or break for it, you might not want to sail. You can request a private table, but they can't promise that you wll get it.

On the 3 cruises I've been on with my fiancé, we've sat at large tables and had a great time. The first time we were at a table of 6 and the 2nd two we were at tables of 8. You have plenty of time ot be alone on the cruise so for us, eating with others wasn't a big factor since we could do everything else together if we wanted to. Additionally, they have Palo's, the adult-only restaurant where you sit at your own table, so if it's a 3 day cruise, you'd only eat with other couples 2 nights if you book a night at Palo's. Also, there is informal dining where you can eat alone if you really don't want to eat with the other couples. Since none of those cruises were for our honeymoon, we were seated with random couples, but we did find that most honeymooners were seated together. We're taking the 4 night Disney cruise for part of our honeymoon in June, but we'll have our 3 month old daughter with us so I'm not sure where we'd be seated this time. If all that concerns you about the cruise is eating with other couples, I would say to go because you'll have a great time. And if you hate eating with the others after 1 night, try to get another Palo's reservation or eat in the informal dining restaurant the other night. You'll love the cruise, I have found them to be some of our most romantic and memorable vacations so don't rule it out just because of eating with others.

The only place you will find tables for 2 is at Palo. Having said that we've met some wonderful couples and Disney does try to place you with silimar groups. On the two cruises we did without other family we were seated once at a table for 4 with one other couple. They were slightly older than us, but we are from the same geographic area and had a great time. At the table next to us were two couples both on their honeymoons. On the other cruise we were at a table for 8 with 3 other couples. We had a really nice time rotating seating at that one so that everyone got to know each other.

If that is your most deciding factor that Disney might not be for you, if not book it and you will have a fantastic honeymoon!

we had the same reservations as you when we cruised on our honeymoon last year. As 2 shy Brits we were concerned about dining with others but we were seated with 2 lovely honeymoon couples and we all had a great time finding out about each other :)

One night we ate at palo and it was simply wonderful:) Have a lovely time!:)

This was a huge issue for me and we did request a table for 2....but no, we didnt get it(we had late seating). It didnt ruin the cruise for us, but it did make our dinners less enjoyable than they could have been. Thank goodness for our 1 night at Palo!
To be honest, I thought about changing cruise lines too when I found out a table for 2 wasnt guaranteed, but we went for it and still had a good time. Good luck deciding what to do.

For our first cruise and our honeymoon, we cruise on the 7-day Eastern during Christmas. We were not aware that we could make any special dining requests so we just went with the flow. We ended up at a table with 3 other families with teenage daughters. Not very romantic. Not even put with honeymooners. We were perplexed but enjoyed our table nonetheless.

BUT, for our next cruise (celebrating our anniversary) we cruised during off-season so that may have played a factor in our request being met. We asked DCL if we could possibly be seated alone for dining. Our request was met. Funny enough, our entire dining section was FILLED with honeymooners! Where the heck were they on our honeymoon! LOL

Next cruise, I will request the same thing. Not that I don't like to socialize with anyone, but hubby and I would like all of our meals to be quiet and romantic. We socialize around the ship anyway, but like the alone-time during meals.

BTW -- you can make these seating alone requests, but there is no guarantee. GOOD LUCK!

Edited to add -- I would NOT CHANGE A THING for our honeymoon on DCL -- it was absolutely magical and perfect in every way!

During one 7 night cruise, Mom, Michael and I had a table to ourselves (not by choice), and it was okay - I would have preferred having tablemates that could share their cruise experience and excursions with us. It did give us a lot of time to chat with our servers though!!

We cruise off season. That said, we've always been at a table by ourselves when we have requested it.

Admittedly, it is not a "table for 2." It is a table for 4 with 2 people seated at it.

Make your request known when you make the reservation. They, go to "dining changes" after you board, and be sure that you got it. If you didn't, ask them to change you at that point. We've had much better luck on board than we have in advance!
