Thankfully, we got a big break on the hotel because we had a Fairy Tale Wedding. But, we had a 2 week honeymoon at the Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club and we got it for less than half the price it was normally back in 2002. It was a real blessing to get the discount - that's why we were able to stay that long! We didn't do a package and, when I was pricing it, I found it to be more expensive because it included a bunch of things I didn't want to do. So, take that into account when planning. Sometimes a package is great, but if you don't plan to rent watercraft or see Cirque du Soliel, you could be wasting money.
We had a few NICE meals - but, we're not big food people, so it was mostly chicken fingers and fries for us! Eat lunch out instead of dinner - you can get the same stuff for less money.
Depending on your stay, it might be cheaper to get an annual pass. You can get lots of benefits. Check out the prices of all the passes before you commit because sometimes the AP is cheaper.
Ummm....wear your bride and groom ears because you might end up with lots of free crap. My favorite was the dessert from Le Cellier. It was so cute....they wrote Congratulations on the dish, but the chef didn't speak much English and spelled it wrong and our waitress wanted to take it back, but we loved it the way it was. We also got a beautiful set of champagne glasses from Cinderella's Royal Table.
But, whether you spend $2,000 or $20,000, you're going to have a magical time at WDW on your honeymoon.
