Honeymoon at the Hard Rock?

We are planning to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel next July(06) for our honeymoon travelling from the UK.

Looking through this excellent board what exactly are these APH Rates and RHR, AAA Rates etc..and where can they be booked from?

Is it cheaper booking the hotel with these rates than through websites such as Expedia, Virgin Holidays etc..?

Also is it worth getting a Loews First membership card ? As we are planning on staying at the Loews Miami Beach after the Hard Rock Hotel if I can find a good room rate on the internet

Is it only through the Lowes website that you can get the 'for four and play for free' deals etc..

Finally does the Hard Rock hotel etc upgrade honeymoon couples to better rooms/suites free of charge etc?

We spent our honeymoon at the Hard Rock and Barbados in 2001.

APH is the annual passholder rate
AAA is the American Automobile Association rate. Usually 5-20% discount. If you are a UK AA member, your 'show and save' card will get you this discount.

I usually book independently because you can then get the Loews Platinum benefits. i.e. upgrade to king suite. If you book through Virgin, they will usually put you in a garden room.

Yes, it's definitley worth signing up here >> http://www.loews-first.com/loewsfirst_application.asp . The earlier the better because your card can take upto six weeks to arrive, but it's free and may get you an upgraded room.

You can ask Virgin or the Hard rock to add a VIP status to your reservation, but I doubt you would get an automatic upgrade to a suite. It all depends on the occupancy of the hotel at the time and the person on the front desk. Sometimes they ask for $35.00 per night extra for a suite.
