Good Afternoon All,

I am getting married 9/25/2010. We are honeymooning at the Boardwalk Villas 9/27/2010 - 10/7/2010. The reason why we booked there is the fact there are a ton of places to eat and since my Fiance is a vegetarian, it makes eating a lot easier for her and it is really close to epcot and hollywood studios; two of our favs.

I've recently been reading some reviews and they are fairly mixed and now I'm in a bit of a panic. Some people loved it and some hated it. I waswondering what your opinion is about this resort for our honeymoon. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Even if there are some nice romantic events that occur, I'm all ears.

I booked a 1 bedroom villa, the one that has a kitchen. Since we both like to realx in the morning we could go to the local grocery store get some instant coffee, bagels and cereal. Kind of a way to cut down on the costs.

Thank you all in advance for any help, advice, or tips you have.

Dave

I haven't stayed at the Boardwalk yet, but when we go we most often stay at the Beach Club Villas. They're right next door and a fairly similar layout in room style. There will always be a few dis-satisfied people for whatever reason, but I wouldn't worry about it. That area is lovely, as is the Boardwalk Hotel, and Disney staff is always amazing. We get the villas for the same sort of reason, and it does save a lot of money not having to buy pastries every morning. And depending on which side of the hotel you're on you either get a lovely view of the Epcot fireworks or a beautiful view of the lake. Make sure to walk around the Boardwalk at night, the lights are gorgeous (and very romantic). They have surries you can rent, magicians and a bicycling piano player, and a really great bakery.

I haven't been on a honeymoon there (yet), but we stayed at the Boardwalk Villas in March. I absolutely loved them! It was my first DVC/Deluxe stay, so I can only compare it to value resorts. We had a Boardwalk view, and that alone was worth it! The balcony was so relaxing and great to go out with a cup of coffee in the morning and some snacks and cocktails before we left for dinner. I love being able to walk to Epcot (we also walked from Hollywood Studios). Jellyrolls was right below us and was also a ton of fun! We had breakfast at Kouzzina one morning (it was good - and very convenient).

I'd like to try the Yacht/Beach Club (maybe next trip) since I hear good things about it too.

I can email you some of our pictures if you want (we had a studio).

What sort of things are you concerned about?

I guess my concerns are just on the basic side. I did do a lot of research and the Boardwalk Villas seemed like the best choice. I think I'm just on the paranoid side, since my Fiance has done most of the work for the wedding and I was in charge of the Honeymoon, I don't want her to be disappointed. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that it is beautiful, romantic and well worth it for the honeymoon.

Dont panic! You will love it!! We my fiance and I stayed there in January and fell in love. We had a Boardwalk view room though. We loved it so much we are getting married down there in Sept too ( Sept 19), and honeymooning there! No worries. There is tons to do, lots of places to sit and people watch, good food and an easy walk to Beach Club/Yacht Club and Epcot. :) Good luck and enjoy it!

The villas are really nice. It is a little more old fashioned than the inn... but its still nice. I stayed there for our wedding (not honeymoon) and the one bedrooms are large enough and with a big tub in the bathroom!!!

The only thing is it's a little old fashioned.. but still beautiful. Try to get one with a boardwalk view. It can loud but its nice and very peaceful.

I've stayed at most resorts at Disney and Boardwalk is by far my favorite but I do prefer the inn side.

BW is our DVC Home resort and I love it! It is by far my favorite resort and I too have stayed at all but 3 Disney Resorts. (ASMu, POR, and the Poly to go!)

Not sure if by old fashioned Tracy meant "older", but the Villas were renovated last year and look great. I had a Grand Villa for our wedding week and my DH stayed on the Inn side. The Inn is a little more sophisticated, but you get a full kitchen/ jacuzzi tub/ seperate bath in a 1 bedroom villa. It's plenty of room for the 2 of you and DEFINITELY pay the extra for a BW view. If you can't then ask for a preferred view overlooking the canal and DHS b/c you will be able to see fireworks from Fantasmic. Congratulations! :goodvibes

Yeah you do! :goodvibes New carpeting, upholstery, bedding, even kitchen cabinetry and appliances! We were so pleased (and kinda jealous) during our anniversary trip... we wished they'd done it the year before! Oh Well! ;)
