Hey everybody! I have officially booked our week-long honeymoon in Disney! My fiance and I will be staying in the Animal Kingdom Lodge Aug. 6-12, 2006. I am now looking for advice as to what we should do on our honeymoon? Anyone who has taken your honeymoon at Disney, what are your suggestions? I look forward to hearing from everyone! Thanks!

definetly make time for down time ie relaxing on your balcony watching the animals, getting a massage at the zahanti healthclub, relaxing in the pool, loving (afterall you are on your honeymoon)

as for fun things to do, we really enjoy the behind the scene tours. weve done the dolphins in depth at epcot which is a dolphin encounter & the backstage safari tour at animal kingdom which was very neat. we also enjoy some of the other recreation options at disney like the specialities cruises which are just awesome, parasailing, golfing & even the hayride & campfire sing along at ft wilderness.

at magic kingdom make sure to get the free were on our honeymoon button on mainstreet usa and use the disney photopass at all the themeparks its a great way to get nice photos with the 2 of you.

congrats, hope you have a great disneymoon! we love animal kingdom lodge its so exotic.

Have a wonderful stay at the AKL—it’s a fantastic resort!

I recommend breakfast at Boma. It’s delicious and is a favorite of ours. I also think it can be a treat to order room service breakfast as well. :)

For things outside the resort, it’s fun to choose one of Disney’s Signature restaurants and go to a special dinner. We are partial to Artist Point and have had nothing but wonderful meals and service there. Plus, the berry cobbler is amazing!

If you’re interested, we enjoyed going to Cirque du Soleil La Nouba during our honeymoon as well. If you’ve never seen one of their shows, they are truly unique and entertaining.

I had not heard about the dolphin encounter thing...what is that? I have a HUGE love for dolphins. Do you know where I could get information about that? Thanks!

Great! Thanks a ton! Where is the Artist Point?

I recommend getting spa treatments like a couples massage or something. I've used both spa's at wdw - they are at the Grand Floridian and Saratoga
Springs. They are both lovely but Saratoga is definitely the best one. You can go there to use the hot tubs and steam rooms before your treatment.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is an awesome choice for a honeymoon. My hubby and I went there for a short honeymoon and even though the CM @ check-in was rude (made me cry on my wedding day!!!), I wouldn't change where we stayed. It is so beautiful and if you happen to be staying concierge call to make a reservation for either of the safari's early. They book fast and we weren't able to do that and I've heard it is wonderful!

A safari would be really awesome - especially for you honeymoon! Congrats to you and whatever you decide to do have blast!

On our honeymoon we had a nice dinner at California grill while watching fireworks! It was amazing:love: Most of the time we ran around the parks like little kids though:)

there used to be a company - don't know if they are still around now and they could arrange anything for you - eg. picnics on the beach - anything you wanted really. please can someone remember the name? they had pixies working for them i seem to remember. sorry for the vagueness but i know another diser will remember.
