I told two of my co-workers about the Honeybaked Ham promotion that ended last week. They ordered the Gourmet Combo Plus for Mother's Day. Their meals arrived, as scheduled, on Friday, May 11.

Both of these ladies say that the hams they received were "mooshy". They indicated that the meat was apparently broken down somehow in the freezing process and deteriorated to the point that it was inedible. There was excess water in with the ham, the meat was almost liquified and the usual crusty glaze was melted into the water. These co-workers live far enough apart from each other that the same UPS service center would not deliver to both, so I don't believe this is a UPS issue. Both have contacted Honeybaked Ham about the very bad hams they received, but neither has received a response yet.

And now I'm concerned. I ordered a Gourmet Combo Plus to be delivered this Thursday, 5/17, for my son's graduation on Saturday. I DO NOT need a ruined ham.

Did anyone else receive a bad ham? I'm wondering if I should make contingency plans in case the ham I ordered is also inedible when it arrives.

I ordered one for Mom and she got it - said it was the best ham she ever had...I am in TX.

I ordered the ham also and had it delivered Friday also. It was awful-just as you described it. Wouldn't even feed it to the dog. I was afraid of food poisining. Have also emailed HoneyBaked(twice) and not heard from them. I live in a suburb of Cleveland and thought because of the distance from California was a problem. At first I emailed the wrong site and got an answer from them right away. To bad they couldn't help me. Dont like to waste money like that:headache: :headache: :headache:

I got mine on Fri or Sat. I ordered ribs and a ham. The ribs were room temp but well sealed and the ham was totally thawed and slighly cold but not real cold, KWIM? The pack was comptelely moosh inside the box. (I'm in HI)

We ate both of them and they were fine. The ham is supposed to be thawed by the time it gets to you, according to the website.

Good luck! I was worried about the stuff being bad too, since it had to get to Hawaii! Ended up being fine!

My order arrived on Friday and was warm. The frozen foam things that are supposed to keep it cool were even warm. We did not eat it, and HB is sending me a credit for the amount we spent, after arguing with me that it could not have arrived warm as it is packaged to stay cool for 2 days. UPS didn't get to my house until about 5:30pm, so I suspect the ham went on the truck that morning still cold (though not frozen) but just couldn't last through 9 hours in the truck in the Houston heat.

Anyway, I would hope for the best, as many have said they got their orders with no problem, but I would still have a back-up plan.

Thanks, everyone. I'm already making plans in case my ham arrives spoiled.

I'm wondering if there was a problem with a high volume of hams being delivered for Mother's Day and perhaps someone didn't freeze the hams as they were supposed to. I've ordered HB Hams for delivery before and not had a problem. I also had placed a second order for June, but I think I'm going to cancel it. I may wait to see the condition the ham that is scheduled to arrive on Thursday.

If you don't have any luck with HoneyBaked, you can always go through your credit card company. Good luck!

They may have been swamped with orders for Mothers Day and/or graduations. You may have better luck with your order for later this week.

My girls ordered flowers for me for Mothers Day and they were practically dead when delivered. I called to complain and the customer service rep said they have had lots of complaints. But they were so busy and packed up orders early (to sit and wait delivery). The same may be true for the hams????

That's what I was thinking. Or perhaps, as I said, they got so rushed that the hams were not properly frozen. And it doesn't help that the weather has warmed up.

Rushed or too busy is not an excuse for bad products being delivered whether it's food or flowers. I would definitely be upset. Since this doesn't appear to be an issue for just one person, it really makes you wonder. Good luck with your ham this week. Hopefully it'll be perfect.

I have had horrible experience with Honey Baked Ham. This last go around, thru a computer glitch in my computer (I think), I ended up placing 6 orders. I didn't even know any orders went thru until they emailed me 6 orders were coming. I definitely called them right away - they said the orders could not be canceled because they were already on the truck. I told her I would refuse the orders - she said OK.

The 6 orders were still sent. contacted UPS to cancel, they were unable to intercept the orders. I've reported this to my CC company and true to my word - all 6 orders were refused shipment. UPS has been out to my house several times lately with these hams and they have REFUSED written all over the boxes. I will never order from this company again! Now, hopefully, I will be able to get my money back thru my CC company. Terrible customer service!:headache:
