In my travels, I noticed the further south you go (except Florida), the more likely you'd have honey served with fried chicken.

The best place I've ever had fried chicken was this place in Atlanta-if I ever knew the name of the place, I would go back. They served these huge corn fritters and honey with the fried chicken.

One place back on LI did, but they appeared to be modeled after that place in Atlanta.

Now I want Ray Noor's, or that place in Atlanta. I don't have fried chicken very often anymore!

do you mean chicken nuggets? or breaded, deep fried chicken? no to both. :)

It's been closed for years, but Myers fried chicken in Amarillo served it that way. :goodvibes

A deli near us served honey with chicken strips starting a long time ago. That's how I got hooked on it. YUM! I never do it at home though.

I saw this thread yesterday, and thought-yuck!! Then last night a friend took us out to a cool restaurant here in Savannah-the Pirate's House-(an actual house that the pirates coming inot port supposedly used a tunnel still in the restaurant from the river into the house to smuggle their bounty...) and there on the menu was "honey pecan drenched fried chicken"

OMG, TDF...... :faint:

I have several baked chicken recipes that use honey in the sauce that's to be poured over the chicken. Verrrry good! :goodvibes

hrh_disney_queen, Spanky's on Riverstreet serves their chicken fingers with honey...it's one of the only places I know of where it comes standard! You have to ask for anything else like honey mustard or ranch!

Nope not any more. Diabetic. But I do remember eating it as a child.

Of course. :) Honey used to be an optional dip to the chicken basket at Sonics. :cloud9: *sighs* But here in Michigan they don't believe in breakfast gravy or Sonic Drive in. :p
