Honestly, should we cancel CM and go somewhere else?

Me, Dh, Dd 3, and Ds 1 traveling to the World Jan 29- Feb 2.

Looking for your opinions. First of all, I feel like we are doing Alot of character meals in four days. Here is what we have :

CRT, Crystal Palace
1900 PF
Tusker House

And then are suppose to do CM on our departure day for breakfast. I kind of thought since we are not doing a park on our last day, that it would be nice to have a character meal as our last magical thing before we left.

However when I read other posts in this board about comparisons, or would you go to CM or ?, I always read negative things about it. Plus isn't it a lot of the same characters we will have seen the day before at Tusker house?

Thought about doing Ohana for breakfast instead, which is the only character meal i have ever been to. Thought it seemed like a much more relaxing atmosphere, however we are having dinner there one evening prior. I'm just one that likes to see and try new things, so although I know the Ohana b'fast is good, the idea of visiting the same place twice in our 5 day trip lacks a little excitement for me.

Thoughts?

I think it's fine for your departure day, especially of you are not planning on going to a park. It basic breakfast, the food was not that good. IMO But you do get to see the fab five and that's probably all your kids care about really. You won't go hungry! We thought it was the worst buffet breakfast we went to onour last trip. But I still booked it again for ur upcoming trip :confused3 SO I guess it wasn't that bad. But avoid supper  Seriously I would never do supper again!

You're really all over the board with your characters with the CMs you've booked - that's great! You won't be seeing all the same ones all the time. I love CMs, because we feel absolutely no need to wait in lines at the parks. My DS wasn't all that into the princsses, so we were just fine with 2 CMs that covered the fab 5 and the Pooh guys.

I love the idea of a CM on departure day, so if you think it's too many CMs, I might cancel one of the others. You'll end up with more park time too!!

What about the Cape May breakfast? We ate there last week & it was my kids favorite meal of the week. The restaurant is really nice too, and it seemed so clean. They were constantly refilling all the food. We did Cm for dinner & I really didn't like it. Too chaotic and the buffet was not good. It was messy & just didn't seem that clean to me.

Chef Mickeys was a bit of a letdown for us. Chaotic check in, FREEZING cold restaurant. However, we had gotten up at 4 am to fly to Disney, it was now 6 pm and we were exhausted. So really that could have put a damper on things. Nobody in the family has asked to go back for this trip though.

I think if it's departure day it might be a nice way to say goodbye. I like the Cape May suggestion too though. :)

We always do CM on our checkout day for breakfast and we love it. I think the breakfast buffet is really good and my whole family really enjoys it. We were there in August and the food was hot and fresh and we had a great time. I wouldn't cancel it, I'd miss it too much!

Have not done breakfast, but agree with PP about dinner for sure.
Was the worst meal I have ever had on property.
If you are ok to go to a park, try Akershus breakfast in Norway,
YUM! And there are princesses too!

I'm not a big fan of CM breakfast, I much prefer the dinner.
But with such young children, the same age as mine, I don't think you can have too many character meals or buffets. Anything that will keep them entertained is great!
We went this past September, and I enjoyed the character meals the most because of this. Our trip next year, I am booking all our restaurants based solely on the kids. Happy children = Happy Parents :)

Too many IMHO. I have granddaughters who refuse to do character meals, so we don't do any now. They are 5yo and 3yo and can not be in the same room with the characters. (This is actually a good thing for us since we don't like buffets.) Looks like you have alot going on. I would skip it and relax your last day, unless this is the one and only time you are going to WDW. It's always nice to have something new to do on the NEXT trip. My granddaughters go to WDW 2-3 trips a year, so we don't try to push the character thing. The oldest one has recently warmed up to the princesses, but the younger one is getting worse every trip. But while the younger one who is 3yo doesn't like characters, she did ride ToT, Soarin, BtMR, and SM last month since she reached the magically height. She didn't like any of them, except Soarin (which she road 3 times).

We had ADR for Chef Mickey past 2 trips and canceled because we changed our park plans while there. Didn't feel like we were missing anything because we saw the same characters at other meals and in the parks several times.

How about breakfast or lunch at Hollywood and Vine (Oso and Handy Manny)? We also really liked Garden Grill (Chip and Dale, Mickey, Pluto).

DS5 really like dancing with the characters at Hollywood and Vine, much better than just table greetings. Garden Grill has more interactions with characters than other meals and I'd say it's relaxing.... Food is served family style, not a buffet. We love character meals and restaurants with "entertainment". I can eat at regular restaurants at home.

We always have to do it. Even though the food is just buffet food, my son still loves it at 11. I don't really think any of the buffets are good, but I don't go there for good food. It's a nice, iconic last meal, but if your kids like Lilo and Stitch, maybe you should switch it.
