in a 2 bedroom suite? I'm thinking about trying to convince my family to go to wdw for xmas next year. I looked on their website and they want to shove 6 adults and 2 kids in a 2 bdroom suite.

It would be my parents who are over 60 and would def not sleep on anything pull out.

My dd would be almost 4, but my sister's child would only be 9 mos old. I can not imagine us all in a 2 bedroom suite, but then again I've never seen these 2 bedroom suites.

is this possible???

Is this our best deal??

We have don a 2 BR suite at the Beach Club. There is one room (standard room) with 2 queens and a daybed, a sitting area with a small "wet bar area" and another bedroom with a king bed and full bath. I think the couches in the sitting area (2) pulled out into beds. If you and your sister (and husbands) could share the regular room, put your daughter on the daybed, and the baby in a crib with your parents in the king room, it would work. The bath in the king was a split bath with a nice two sink vanity, so there should be plenty of room for 6 adults with shaving, teeth, etc...However, it would require 2 couples to share the standard bed space.
Hope this helps.

In May last year we had 5 adults and 3 children (2,4 & 7) in a 2 bedroom in WL. It was my in-laws in the king bedroom. My wife and SIL with one child apiece in each of the queen beds. My youngest in a pack and play in the same room near the vanity area. I was the lucky one who slept on the pull out in the living area. This worked well though because I tend to stay up late to plan the next day, get things ready and have a few adult beverages. The pull out was not to bad to sleep on, but I am not that picky either.

We are leaving next week to stay in a 2 bdrm suite at the Grand Floridian. There are 9 of us--myself, husband, toddler, and baby (in crib), my sister's family including her husband and 2 boys, and grandpa is also coming.

We will put each family in a room (one room has two double beds, the other a king bed), and grandpa gets the living room (which has queen sleeper sofa).

Suite arrangements are different for each resort, though.

It will most likely be cheaper to get seperate rooms for your visit. Our suite is running over $8,000 for five nights. Sickening, but true. I would never do it if it weren't a once in a lifetime kind of trip!

Good luck with planning.

If I were you I would look into renting points from a DVC member and stay in a 3 bedroom Grand villa at BWV,SSR or OKW.OKW is definetly the biggest.Or you could check through Disney and see what kind of price you get. Then you would have a kitchen and 3 bedrooms and three bathrooms and it could be 4 bathrooms. The GVs are Beautiful.

Do you know how I would go about renting points? Where do I go to look? Where to start?

Thanks for any info

Go over to the rent and trade board. What dates are thinking of going and then I could look and see how many points you would need.
The beginning of December through the 15th is the cheapest amount of points. Then most people over there will rent points for 10.00 each. They cannot book until 11 months out but you could go ahead and post over there and have someone lined up to do it for you.If you want OKW then you would need someone that Owns at OKW and then ask them, they can book 11 months out otherwise you will have to wait till 7 months out if they own somewhere else.

OK I checked points and a week from December1-14,Say you wanted 7 nights during that time would be 356 points so you could more than likely get it for 3560.00 for a week at OKW in a GV.the 15th-23 any week during that time would be 372 points so you could rent points for 3720.00 for the week. That is not a bad price at all the size of OKW GV are Incredible.I will try to find the Sq ft.

How about off-site? My extended family of 5 adults, 3 children have stayed at what is now the Staybridge Suites many times. It has 2 bedrooms. One with a king bed and it's own bathroom, the second with 2 double beds and a bathroom, plus a pull-out in the main room. It also has a kitchen. It is right at the entrance of Downtown Disney, so you are not far away.

Or, try looking into renting a Vacation Home near WDW. You could get like a 4 or 5 bedroom gorgeous home, with a private pool, for probably less money than any deluxe Disney resort.

But if you want to go the first two weeks of December, especially in a Grand Villa (at the BW), you will need to get a member to make that reservation for you at exactly 11 months ahead of time. The first two weeks of Dec are very popular with DVC members because of the low number of points, so the villas get booked fast. And with the very limited number of GVs at the BW, they go very, very fast.

6 adults and two children will fit in a two bedroom villa. And there are many more of them. One bedroom sleeps two in a king sized bed. Two more people in the sleeper sofa in the living room, then four in the second bedroom (at BWV, there are only lock off rooms - meaning the second bedroom will be identical to a studio - kitchenette, plus a queen sized bed and double sleeper sofa).

There are 26 GVs at OKW and you might have a better chance at getting an OKW GV, but they still go very quickly.

You could also rent a two bedroom and a studio. The studio for the grandparents or the other family. You keep the master bedroom. The grandparents or other family (whoever does not get the studio) gets the second bedroom. But the two bedroom and studio may or may not be close to each other. They will not connect and could be on different floors.

But if you want Christmas time, start looking for your points now. The member can make the reservation at their home resort 11 months from the day you check out (or day by day on each day).

I think renting a house off property gives everyone plenty of space and a quality vacation. We rented a house for 10 days last Christmas for around $1850. Using back roads it was only 15 minutes from the MK turnstiles to our driveway. This is the house we rented www.vacationhomesorlando.com
