I have two boys 6 and 3. I'm wondering about a Character Meal at Cinderella's Royal Table b/c I think it would be nice for them to eat in the Castle but really (in all honesty) how girly is it? Would a family with 2 boys enjoy it?

I can't speak for CRT, as I've not been there in years; however, we took DS to Akershus (with the princesses) last time we were there. He was almost 5 and he *LOVED* it. It was one of his absolute favorite character meals. The princesses really played up to him and made him feel really grown up and special.

This time we plan to do Akershus again AND CRT.

My dh and I ate by ourselves at the royal table. I received a wand and he received a sword. Even without kids it was great. I think your boys will love it, they are called handsome princes....

First time we went to WDW my boy/girl twins were 6 - my son loved all the attention he got from Belle and Fairy Godmother. Second time we went, the kids were 12 - DS put up with it pretty well (he enjoyed the breakfast and being in the Castle). They're 16 now, and I'm debating whether to drag him to Akershus, but we have only a quick trip coming up so may skip it.

The first time my son went he was 5 or 6yrs old and my daughter was 12. At first he did not want to go. He hates having his picture taken and almost refused to be in the picture with Cinderella. The princesses did a great job with him and he loved his sword. By the time breakfast was over he loved it.
In fact, he had such a good time, he asked to go back there when we went to MK on his 7th birthday. He still talkes about the special birthday dessert that he got there.

My 6 year old boy loved meeting the Princesses at Akershus! And the fairies. ;)

Personally I wouldn't do it unless they show some interest in being in the castle. One of the neatest aspects to us was the stained glass windows looking out on FL but they are covered now for the construction. Practically speaking it's quite expensive for average food and rather indifferent service. I have a daughter so we have dragged my son there a few times. At 6 he literally climbed under the table to avoid talking to the Princesses. He wasn't that anti-Princess until we actually were there so I didn't realize. After that he has been ok but is rather sulky and sits the furthest seat in so the Princesses won't bother him. He liked Akershus better because he could go to the buffet when the Princesses came around.

When we went to CRT, DS was 4. He HATED it! He wanted nothing to do with the princesses, even though they made a fuss over him, he wouldn't allow his pic to be taken with him. The only pic we have of him there is with Fairy Godmother because she told him that he wasn't allowed to refuse. :rotfl: She even gave him a kiss on the forehead, which he grumped through. She was awesome, tho. It's pretty darn girlie. It depends on how girl-friendly your DSs are.

Our son was turning 6 when we went with the whole family, and he had a great time. Our nieces were wearing their princess dresses and our son dressed up as a knight, complete with hat with feather. Cinderella went gaga over him. We have a great pic of her smooching him on the cheek. (He had lipstick on him for the rest of the afternoon.) He still has the wishing star they gave out at lunch. I'd say it depends on the kid.

My boys were 5 and almost 2 when we went and they both really liked it. We went for me, but they had fun with the swords, wishing stars and the princesses. They really flirted with my boys (except for Jasmine ... she was kind of rude) and my oldest fell in love with Belle. Oldest is upset we aren't going back to eat when we go in August. I think as long as you don't make it a girly thing, they'll enjoy it.

My son was 7 when we ate at CRT and he *hated it ;) He did not interact with the Princess's, did not want their autographs in his book, or take pics with them. He didn't care for the fact that he was in the castle either, just not his thing. His younger sister however loved it! Since then we've ate at Akershus 3 times and he just totally ignores the Princess's. They catch on quick and just leave him alone.
If it were me, i'd go elsewhere.

I think it depends on your kids. I have two DSs. When my youngest was little the princesses were his thing, so we booked the castle - and they both loved it! It is a really neat atmosphere, the food is good, etc. Now that he is older he still loves these meals and my older son does, too. We have done both Akerhaus and CRT a couple of times each. CRT is definitely better - the atmosphere of eating in the castle can't be beat! They do get swords, wishing stars, etc. I think if you don't point out it's a "girly" thing it won't be. Neither of my boys have ever questioned if they should be there.

My 3 boys have always like CRT in the past. They get a sword and get called handsome princes. They think this is funny. I really depends on your kid though. I'm not sure that I would have ever eaten there though if I didn't have a daughter.

If they want to go, take them they'll have fun. But if it is really the grown ups that want to go and the boys are indifferent, I don't know if I'd bother to be honest.
