Not looking to book CRT, but to have a late lunch at the Castle, and we have never done this before. I know the menu is limited, but kids would like to experience eating right there, kinda cool. Is the food so-so....worht it?

We never ate here for lunch, just dinner and breakfast but we actually prefered the dinner – I recall the dinner being quite nice (they made up a special vegetarian meal for me) and DH quite liked the steak. Cinderella was in the foyer and the view of the fireworks over Dumbo and the carosel was stunning! My drink came with a souvenier glass which I still love to use! Decor was wonderful and the service was just outstanding. Anyway you can switch lunch with dinner?
P.S. How old are your children? Girl or boy? While we were there the servers went all out with the little ones to make them feel like princesses (we only saw girls).

Our family wouldn't do the breakfast either (11 yo boys think that princesses are, well...gross!). We have eaten at CRT for both lunch and dinner since we started taking our DS to WDW at age 6. We have always had a good meal, excellent service and a fun overall experience. Last time we ate there for lunch, my DH really enjoyed the Major Doma's Pie (Prime Rib in Puff Pastry w/Cabernet Sauce) and I enjoyed Bruno's BBQ Chicken, served with Veggie Slaw and Apple Walnut Cake. As you can see by the post above mine, the kids menu is quite small, but it includes standard kid fare and most kids should be happy with the offerings. It really is special eating in the "Castle" and we have always been lucky to get a table by the window, and liked looking out over the MK. My DS still gets a kick out of being called "Prince" whenever we dine at CRT.

Thanks guys...My kids are Girl 14, boy 10, and just not into the princess thing, but the Castle, now that's another story! They both think Tinkerbell is the best,(another reason for choosing to eat there) and we are hoping to be down where she lands after the fireworks...thus the late lunch thoughts. We will be there during the high crowds...12/18-28....so don't care to risk not getting a spot where we'd like. Thank you for the convenient post of the menu....I hope I can get PS!

I absolutely love dining in the castle at lunch. I almost always have the Chicken Caesar salad-it's so yummy!

We ate dinner one time probably in April. We were even seated at the window on the backside, supposedly the best table in the house.
I only remember the time of day because the sun was in my eyes the whole time. :jester:
I can't recall what either of us ate, but I don't recall being disappointed either.
I would eat there again. But it wouldn't be a first choice. But after all -- you are eating IN the castle! :hyper: princess: :thewave:

DH and I have eaten lunch at the castle twice and loved it both time.

I had the Major Domo's Pie last year and it was yummy! Wish I could have it now!

We had lunch just recently at CRT (July). Since we were on the silver plan...we each got the prime rib. Our child got the cheeseburger. We shared dessert with him. Our seat was at the window backside overlooking the Dumbo ride. I was not expecting to see characters at lunch. As we waited to be called up, Cindy's friends came out and entertained us. After lunch as I was coming down the stairs, Cindy was sitting in her chair and the lobby was empty! We each had our picture taken and I even had a long chat with her....That was my highlight since everything is always boy related at my house. We really enjoyed the lunch. The food was incredible.
