Ok, I need honest opinions please... The thurs. before xmas school break I picked up my son at the after school program, and he was the last one. As I was leaving the teacher grabbed a pair of boots on the floor and asked if they were my son's. I said yes and grabbed them. They didn't even make it out of my truck all week then last night I was going through picking up my son's room and saw his boots. The two pair are identical. So today was the fist day I have picked up my boys since that Thurs and brought the boots back admitting the mistake. The boys who's boots I took was getting picked up as well. We gave his mother back the boots and she was very upset, she said that there has been a note out the prior Friday and mon-weds of this week stating that the boots were missing. (I didn't know I had them and I hadn't been to the school to get my boys) but I did have them... She had just gone and bought him a new pair yesterday. She confronted me saying that she wanted me to reimburse her the $40 she spent on the new boots. I explained to her that I didn't know, I was sorry, and just realized the mistake. I didn't tell her no. I do feel bad. What would you do?
