Looking for an honest ebay seller that sells real disney pins in lots or similar?
Ask and ye shall receive. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3076860
They keep that thread over on the Disney Collectors board. I've ordered from gyantzpod and been happy with my purchases.
The list Pesky posted is excellent. I have had very pleased with purchases from Chip_and_Dale! and Kather99.
Mousepins is questionable.
OP, I do not think it is possible to purchase a lot of pins that are completely authentic. My suggestion is to maybe find some booster sets you are interested in, and purchasing those at a decent price through a reputable seller on ebay. I recently purchased the Disney Princesses High Heel Booster Set at a great price...Originally $29.95, purchased on ebay brand new for $14.95.
I don't know about ebay, but you could check out www.mousepinsonline.com They are phenomenal and we just buy a few of their grab bags of pins. We generally get a couple we want to keep and then trade the rest. I think the pins in the grab bags are 1.60 each right now and they are all legitimate pins.
Not a chance that they are legit. Are they buying them for $5.00 in the park and selling them for $1.60 or are they buying them for .50 cents from China and selling them for $1.60?

I've used MPO plenty of times in the past, I've received good pins from them. They also send ProPins (which ARE tradeable to CM's) which helps to keep their costs down so in turn you can pay less. I never pay more than $2 a pin when buying for traders and I can tell you that I do not trade scrappers.
That doesn't mean MPO hasn't sent me scrappers but it does mean that out of a couple hundred pins getting 5 or less scrappers makes it affordable for me.
I will say that I have not needed trading pins for quite some time so I have not used MPO for a couple years so their practices may have changed in that time. I would use them again if I needed a lot.
I agree that Propins are tradeable pins but their site says the grab bags don't contain Propins and if you believe that they can sell Disney pins that are not sedesma or propins for $1.60 each that aren't purchased directly from China than I have a brand new "authentic" $500 Coach purse that I will sell you for $29.95![]()
Honestly I could care less if people buy and trade over runs, scrappers, etc that are purchased directly from China and sold on eBay. Disney doesn't seem to care so why should I but if anyone thinks they can purchase large lots of pins for 50% or less than Disney sells them for and believes they are legit than your fooling yourself.
I am very knowledgeable in the area of scrappers and yes I regularly AM able to buy good pins (not scrappers or seconds or fakes) for about $2 per pin. When I purchased from MPO they had ProPins in their grab bags, if you read my post I stated quite clearly I had not purchased from them in years so my information may be outdated. I've been a regular contributor to the eBay thread on the collector board for many years now.
I DO care if people trade scrappers and I do not buy fakes so you can sell your fake Coach purse to someone else.![]()

Again, I regularly buy legitimate approved non scrappers pins for $2 per pin, I'm not fooling myself but thanks for your opinion.
So enlighten me, how do people sell pins for $2 when they cost $5 in the park? AFAIK Disney hasn't deemed anyone a pin expert yet many claim to be. The majority of the pins that come from China aren't "scrappers", the companies that are making the pins for Disney just make overruns. If they have an order for 5000 pins they just run 7500 and there is no way your or anyone else can tell the difference between these pins and the pins sold at Disney because there isn't a difference. There is no possible way anyone can be selling thousands or even hundreds of pins for less than $2.00 unless they are buying them from China for .40 cents. Could there be a seller that has 20 or 30 pins they want to move quickly and sell for $2, maybe but that would be extremely rare. Please tell me how you know the $2 pins you regularly purchase are "legitimate approved non scrappers" do they come with a certificate?
Where did I say I was an expert? Scrappers are pins that were not approved by Disney, those "overruns" that Disney doesn't buy, those ARE scrappers, they are supposed to be scrapped aka thrown away. But the factory in China doesn't do that, they sell them.
Your sarcasm is rude and unnecessary, very few pins are sold with any kind of certificate to prove authenticity. I never said anyone could sell hundreds of pins for those prices and not be scrappers. I think you're on a soapbox you don't need to be on. What I said is I don't pay more than $2 per pin for traders and I don't trade scrappers, I have scrappers but I don't trade them.
As for "enlightening" you, think about it, there are many ways to get discounted pins, from rewards to buying pins on clearance at the outlet stores. It isn't rocket science.
I'm not going to argue with you, I will say it again, I buy traders for about $2 per pin and I don't trade scrappers.
It just takes a quick internet search of "how to spot a fake disney trading pin" to find several webpages with explicit pictures and descriptions of how to spot a scrapper.
By doing this I was able to determine that several pins I was looking at on Ebay were obvious scrappers.
My sarcasm is based the fact that you have deemed yourself a pin expert...you can smell the pins, look at them under a microscope, listen to them, rub them, and shake them but unless you purchase them directly from Disney you have absolutely no idea where they came from. Your definition of extra pins may be "scrappers" but that is a term with no real basis in reality...it is a made up term used on the internet.
Again I could care less where people get their trading pins but to pretend as if trading pins are readily available for $2 is laughable. Unless you are buying you pins directly from Disney you have no idea if you are trading "scrappers".
