This is where we ate last week....
Prime Time Cafe: We had lunch there. I really enjoyed the decor and the carryings on of the "family". The food was really good. I had the vegetarian stuffed pepper entree and it was mighty tasty!
Brown Derby: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Brown Derby! Had dinner there. Most excellent waitress. Friendly, outgoing, generous. We got an extra appetizer for free. I had the portabello mushroom ravioli for an appetizer. Very delishous, but a little small. I had the Thai Noodle Bowl which was AWESOME! And of course, Grapefruit Cake for dessert.
(BTW, I love their Grapefruit Cake so much we asked if we could special request it for our wedding cake and the pastry chef at the WL said yes. It was awesome! I could have eaten the whole thing.) I love the ambiance at the BD. I think it's my favorite WDW restaurant.
Cinderella's Royal Table: Yes, OK, we were the only table of two adults at a Character Breakfast. But I don't care.
I was so excited I could hardly eat! All the princesses made a fuss over us because we had our bride-to-be and groom-to-be buttons on. I think the breakfast was pretty good. I did notice that it was pre-plated and the bacon and sausage was on top of the eggs. Not good for a vegetarian.
Liberty Tree Tavern: I felt like I was eating in someone's house at the LTT. Which was nice, since it was cool in there and relatively quiet. A nice respite from the massive crowds and unbearable humidity. The food was good. I had grilled vegetables and cous cous. Our waiter was harried but was doing his best. Had the apple cobbler dessert which was OK. Not great.
Spirit of Aloha Diner Show: I almost tried to convince my fiance to skip this show. It was not my favorite and I was tired, but he loves it so I dragged myself over there. And I was pleasantly suprised! Even though we just saw it in Sept I thought it was much much better this time. The food was good, but again, I didn't eat much. It's mostly ribs and chicken I think. But that was OK, I wasn't all that hungry anyway. Dessert is that volcano chocolate mousse, which was again OK, not great.
Marakesh: Did I spell that right? We love ethnic foods, so we were intrigued by this restaurant. The food was great! Really nice staff. Excellent service. I loved the mint iced green tea! I was really looking forward to seeling the belly dancer. But I was kind of disappointed. First off she looked like a girl from Brooklyn, and also she was very buff, more like a body builder. Not that there is anything wrong with that. She just didn't seem lithe and sensous, as I expected a belly dancer to be. Plus she only danced for ten minutes and even at that she didn't move about at all. I sort of thought she would come around to the tables, but she didn't.
California Grill: OMG. OMG! I love this place. Wait. Which do I love better? CG or BD? Hmmm...tough choice. OK Maybe BD, but only by a nose. California Grill is nothing like any other WDW restaurant I've ever been to. It's very....cosmopolitian. Very urban, upscale. Super service. The food was EXCELLENT. I had the four cheese flatbread, which of course they give a fancier name to. It was SUPER. I had a vegetarian entree, which I can not remember the name of. It was spinach pasta leaves with mushrooms and some interesting cheeses. Gosh it was good!
San Angel Inn: Lunch was very good. Service was a little slow. I had Cheese Burritos. We had ordred guacamole which showed up after our meal.
WDDMR: I love this show! It's so much fun!
But as soon as they found out we had JUST gotten married that morning, well, it REALLY became a hoot! Six Bits (Is that his name?) kept stopping the show, pointing to us and saying "Today?" One of the other actors said 'Today? WHAT are you doing HERE tonight??" Later Six Bits said "I know this show is good and all, but TODAY??" We were so embarrassed but also having a really great time. The food here is good also. I like the salad, with the Italian dressing and a little cheese. My fiance said the ribs and the chicken were really good. I had a pasta plate with steamed vegetables, which altough it looked bland, was actually mighty tasty! Corn was good and fresh tasting. The strawberry shortcake was pretty good, for a mass produced dessert. This dinner show is all about the fun, not a gourmet meal. I love it. We had a blast!
Rainforest Cafe: You know, I really don't like the fact that the RC is the only sit-down restaurant at the AK. We were on the Gold Plan so we had no choice. Even though we had ressies we still had to wait quit a long time. We did not wait at all anywhere else. This place may be entertaining for some, but i just find it to be loud and annoying. Thankfully they sat us waaaay in the back. So it wasn't that bad, but still...Plus it took us 2 1/2 hours to have lunch! It took FOREVER to get our meals. I will say though that once we got them, the food was great. I had Island Bruschetta, and a Plant Sandwich, which is exactly what it sounds like it is. (OK grilled veggies really.) It was great. Really very delicious. For dessert we ordered a Volcano. OMG it was HUGE. Enough for four people! It was deelish but we couldn't finish it.
For dinner we were supposed to go to Jiko but we were too tired and not at all hungry. Which was too bad, because I really wanted to try it.
Oh well...next time, right?
