Honda Pilot

Just want to add that I have had my 2010 Pilot for almost one year (our anniversary will be Nov. 25) and I'm wondering how I should celebrate my love for her. I drove several Honda Odysseys, which I loved, but I was just ready to not drive a mini-van anymore. AND, I wanted a vehicle that would drive better in the snow.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Pilot. We drove from MN to NM last summer which is a trip we make every couple of years. This was our first one without a van, so I was a bit worried. It worked out great! We love that the rear window pops open without having to open the entire door. We use the 3rd row often enough to know that it's easy to pop up and down again.

I just can't say enough great things about this vehicle. I think one thing I like about it, as another poster said, is that it doesn't drive like a car. I didn't want a car. I wanted an SUV.

Good luck with your choice. I know it can be difficult. Sometimes it does just come down to customer service when you find that you fairly equally like two vehicles. Let the salesperson work for your business!

Thank you everyone for the "reviews". I like to read reviews from real people and not what is printed on a website. Who knows if they were real or written by the company. I think it is going to be between the Honda or the Toyota. We have always bought GM, but they are getting so expensive anymore. Hopefully, we can make our Terraza last until late spring so we can get the credit card paid off. We have to put $350 into next week to replace the timing chain. It was that or trade it in now and have a new car payment and also the credit cards payment. Anyway, thanks for the opinions!:yay::yay::yay:

I have a 06 Pilot that I bought used and I love it. They only thing I had to change out were too routers and breaks but that was my/dh fault for thinking something was stuck in the breaks and not the breaks actually being worn.

My only complaint is the road noise but I'm not sure if newer models addressed this issue. I only really notice it on the highway but it's not too bad, just something I noticed more than my previous car which was a CR-V.

I was a little nervous about purchasing the pilot as we had a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the past and I was always afraid I would roll it since it felt so tippy. I have never felt like this in my Pilot :) Good luck with your decision!

I read your thread and was curious as I hope to get a new vehicle soon too. I have an '02 Odyssey. I have been seriously thinking about the Traverse too, but I've never wanted a Chevy before. All of my cars have been Honda or Toyota. What is it about the price of the Traverse? Is it more than the Pilot? I didn't think I could afford a Pilot or a Highlander, but are they all in the same category? What I really want is an Acura MDX, but those are at least $50k. Wow. Like you, I also want the best car I can get for the money. Would love to hear what you think of the Traverse, did you test drive it at all? I haven't, just seen it on the road. Not crazy about the way the back window looks, but then again, I haven't been able to get too serious yet! Thanks!

Actually, I have ridden in a Traverse and really like it. It is roomy and has about every feature that we want. The bad thing is the price. The cost was going to be $40,000 for the same features we can get on the Pilot or Highlander for around $32,000. Other than the price, I like the Traverse. My sister-in -law has one and really likes it. We have always bought "American" and this might be the first foreign car for us, but when there is such a price difference, it is hard to stick with GM.

I am on my second Pilot. After falling in love with my first one ('04 purchased used) I knew I would never want anything else. I traded that used one for a new '09 last year. I LOVE my Pilot!!!! For our family of four it is great. The third row comes in handy when I have the kids' friends with me. There is plenty of room for all our "stuff" when we go on vacation. I think it drives like a car- very smooth. I cannot recommend it enough.

Thanks for the info. After reading your thread I did a little comparison shopping online, seems that all of these are $35k+ or so. How does anybody afford a new vehicle these days?! And w/ a new vehicle, I want a hatch that has the auto-open/close feature. I am definitely putting the Pilot on the list. Thanks so much!

I love love love my 2007 Pilot! It is very easy to drive and has lots of room!

What ever you do dont buy a GM . We just bought a Buick Enclave step up of the Traverse and have had it 5 weeks drove it to Disney once has roughly 3500 miles on it and has been in the shop for a week having the motorhauled all a part. Needs new timing chains and tentioners and dont know how much more untill they are in the motor. Gm is giving me the run around with it all. No customer service!:headache:
