Homework Help (Economics)

I know someone here will have a good idea. DH has to do a short paper for economics, it needs to be a current event and have something to do with supply and demand.
The only thing we have come up with is the Music Downloading.

Any input would be great!

Why not use the recent deals that Disney has been offering such as buy 4 nights and get 3 free with park passes as well?

Disney has traditionally never offered deals like this but due to a slowly recovering post 9/11 travel industry they are trying to jump start their supply by stimulating their demand.

It is timely and also includes Disney!

Some other interesting ones might be Airlines and airfare, mobile phones starting to take the place of landline phones, recent gas prices, lol, there are tons more I could think of. I would stay away from the Music Downloading one since I have a feeling that would be pretty popular.

How about the artificially high, yet temporary needs that natural disasters impose, such as the hurricane, with plywood, water, generators, building supplies??

How about the overcapacity in the auto industry?

The Big Three just negotiated contracts that allow them to start closing older plants and everyone knows, from the deep discounts being offered on new cars, how desperate the industry remains to continue to sell them, esp in light of the fact that it is burdened with retiree benefits and health care costs.

Of course, that may not be a short paper.

Thanks, I knew I could count on you all! He (DH) ended up finding 3 great articles on auto production and pricing. I always think the hardest part of the paper is finding the topic!!
