I am going to a convention this month at the Anaheim Convention Centre, and have been told that the Homewood Suites is a good hotel as it is on the convention centre and DL shuttle routes.

Has anyone stayed there?

Fiona - you will be about 2 miles from the park and convention center and yes, they do have a shuttle bus, although I've never used it (have stayed there 3x in the past 2 years). I believe the bus stops at several hotels, not just the Homewood suites. Your room rate includes breakfast and on weekdays they have snacks and a reception in the evening. There's a nice pool & heated whirlpool outside. The hotel has five floors and two elevators. It's a nice place to stay as you have a lot of space in your room. You'll have a small kitchenette in your room with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster & 2-burner stove, a table with 2 chairs, a sitting room with sofa bed, and either 1 king or 2 queen beds in the bedroom. There are 3 restaurants in walking distance - a Red Robin, Joe's Crab Shack and Outback Steakhouse. Also, there's a Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel next door (a Marriott I think) that's very near the entrance to the Homewood suites. If you rent a car, the parking is free and adaquate (esp in the back of the hotel). Hope this helps!

Thanks for that!!

Would you recommend staying there with no car, will my SIL and I be able to get out easily in the evenings, or will we use taxis a lot?

Are the grounds scenic? Is the fitness centre available to all guests?

I would rent a car . . . for my taste it's too far to the parks and I don't like relying on busses to get around, but that's JMHO. If you don't rent a car you would probably spend the same amount of $$ on taxi fares. As for the grouds, the landscaping is nice enough and the lobby is nice, with a bronze statue of Mickey in the lobby and a high-ceiling interior in the dining area. Wish I coul d help on the exercise room . . . good luck on your trip!
