If I made some homemade playdough as a present for kids on the cruise, would it get confiscated? I was thinking of making a gingerbread type scented one.

Hard to say, but I think maybe it could be. It's actually a food product and those sorts of things are supposed to be pre-packaged items, not homemade.

I think it’s a really sweet idea, but I wouldn’t want to give it to my kids. My whole goal in a small space is to reduce mess and even homemade play dough is messy. I’m not sure I’d want to put it in the luggage and cart it home either so it might get left behind.

A sweet idea but also a potential mess of playdough in the soft fabrics of the staterooms. I would venture that you keep a close eye on your children. The other possibilities are positively scary.
