I made this for my DD K class party last year. They turned out very cute. I used felt instead of fleece as I made the tiny size ones.

Thank you thank you. You all have made my day! I can't believe how hard it was to search the web for this guy. I am going to save this to a disc so nothing happens again.

:goodvibes You're welcome! When I made the little hats, I tied the string around it to make the fringe on top xtra long and tied it so we could hang them on the tree. I also made the popcorn ones to go in the teachers gift baskets.

The process is a lot like melt and pour soapmaking. Judging from the amount required, you could make quite a few with just one batch. I haven’t given these as gifts yet, but as part of a homemade bath and body gift basket, I am sure your gift recipients will be impressed.

There are literally hundreds of lip balm recipes out there. You can find quite of few of homemade lip balm recipes at fromnaturewithlove.com. The recipe outlined below is adapted from soap-queen-blogspot.com. Everything you need, oils, waxes, flavors, tins, can be purchased through Brambleberry.com’s lip balm section. They also carry a meltable lip balm base that makes the process even easier. You don’t have to worry about the proportions, you just melt the base in the microwave or double-boiler, and add your flavor and/or color. The down side to this is you can’t customize the oil and wax ingredients, which is part of the creative fun in this kind of project.

The following recipe is adapted from soap-queen-blogspot.com:

Materials...
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon beeswax
1 1/2 teaspoon sweet almond oil
1 teaspoon olive oil
20-30 drops of the flavoring of your choice
7 to 10 lip balm containers. It will vary greatly depending on the size container that you get.

Directions...
You can do the melting process in the microwave, but you want to make sure you heat in brief 10-20 second intervals, stirring between each interval. To be safe, use a double-boiler or if you have a Pyrex measuring container, or other heat resistant glass for the procedure below. I like to use the Pyrex container method because it is easier to pour the mixture into the lip balm containers.

1. Add a few inches of water into a saucepan. If you are not using a double-boiler, place your Pyrex container in the saucepan.
2. Heat water on low.
3. Add coconut oil and beeswax. Stirring often, heat until they are completely melted.
4. Add olive oil, sweet almond oil, and flavoring. (If you are adding coloring, do so here)
5. Continue heating and mixing for a minute or two.
6. Pour mixture into small lip balm containers.
7. Let cool and you are done.

Looks like last post was one of those that people post just to advertise a website. I didn't click on it but since it didn't go with the flow, I am guessing so...

Just made a huge batch of cinnamon applesauce ornaments. I am trying to dry them quicker using the oven at 170 instead of a week of room temp. We will see how it goes. At least my house smells good.:thumbsup2

Also kids working on a few of the create your own ornament glass ball type. Glitter, glue, pompoms, ribbon, rub on stickers, ...pretty and creative...

Anyone happen to have a pattern or know where I can find on online for sewing baby shoes/slippers/booties ??

One year we did the hot cocoa packets, to take it an extra step further. We dipped plastic spoons in chocolate, then stuck 3 tiny marshmellows to the warm chocolate. After it cooled we then placed them into tiny bags you can get at the craft store and tied it with ribbon. We also took the candy canes and used the long end of the cane and dipped it in chocolate and added them to the little baggies. Everyone LOVED them.

I bought disposable travel coffee cups with the lid last year. Filled them with kisses and a Tim Horton or Starbucks gift card and wrapped them in cellophane and tied with Christmas ribbon. Something small for the bus driver, school secretary... They were very surprised and they turned out really cute...

When my children where little. For christmas every year I would buy regular blank sweatshirts for 5 dollars each. (not sure how much they are now). Then I would go to the craft store and buy fabric paint. I would put paint on a paper plate and dip little hands in the paint and then press them to the sweatshirt. I once did tiny little feet walking up the back of a sweatshirt and added the words (they walk all over me) I would then add Nannie Or Papa on them.
Everyone loved them so much after the first year I had to start doing Aunt and uncle ones also. It was a very inexpensive gift and my dad wore them out until he passed away.
I have two grandchildren now and I plan to make them this year for myself lol.

Sorry, cause I haven't read every single post, but... I know cookie dough freezes incredibly well - I got married last year - scooped all the dough into balls, and froze the balls, then put them into foodsaver bags and froze them - not one cookie could you tell the dough had been frozen. I also have a great book called master mix cookies, you make one main mix with all of the flour, sugars soda etc. and then use 2-3 cups of this plus three or four other things to make the cookies. I love them all and would be happy to mail a copy of the book to anyone who could use the help. I also have a large number of gift in the jar ideas, and would be very happy to share. Feel free to PM me and I would gladly share everything I have!

Don't know if you can tell from pic...but the one with lots of pompoms is a "hidden Mickey" ornament:rotfl2:

I bought lots of fleece during the Joann Black friday sale for 2.99 a yard and now have 6 no sew blankets to make. I've made one so far and it took about on hour, so I didn't think that was too bad.

I'm also going to be making the Merry Whiskmas whisks with Hershey's kisses inside for some co-workers. I stocked up on Hershey's kisses at a few recent CVS sales and found whisks for $1.00.

Thanks to everyone who has posted ideas on this thread. I love reading it!

sorry I didn't see the whisk idea, what is it?

I saw the description on another thread. You take a whisk and fill it with candy. The one that I read added a tag that said "Whisking you a Merry Christmas!"

A handful of Kisses inside of a whisk inside of a favor bag. Tag reads-We whisk you a Merry Kissmas!

I mean, come on! Tooooo cute! LOL
