Hi - I did not want to hijack the other thread with my question so I started a new one.

I have a question for those of you who have made your own authograph books in the past. I am going to do this for dd for our trip in August. I got a small scrapbook for dd to have them sign in. I plan on making it a two page spread for each character - one page with signature and another for the picture. My question is - do you decorate the pages before you go or after you get home? Do you bring blank pages in case you run into a "rare" character?

Thaks for any tips. DD has several of each kind of WDW and DLR autograph books so I thought I would make this one extra special for her.

I am making a scrapbook as well, not for characters but for just general trip stuff. I am putting all of my reservation numbers in there and I am decorating it somem before I leave. I am leaving spaces to write what we ate, and maybe get some pictures of the servers and put them in. But, I am not decorating all of it before hand--you just never know what could happen there and I would rather be flexable with it.

The kids and I decorated the ones we made, using a combination of stickers, scrapbook supplies and clip art for the harder to find characters. We grouped them by category so we could find them; fab five together, movie characters together. It was pretty easy for the kids to find them as we were standing in line and they got a lot of attention when the characters saw them. We left blank pages in case we ran across characters we hadn't planned for. The kids loved doing these and my DD even made ones for her cousins that went with us last year.

If you have decorated pages, the characters usually make a big deal out of them. However, you'll also want blanks because you'll run into some you don't have pages for.

I know a lot of people do the picture/autograph bound books, but I find that it's better for us to just have an autograph book and then make a "mini scrapbook" with the pictures and autographs after we get home. No matter how careful you are, sometime the characters will sign upside down in the book (but I find they're VERY good at not doing this) or they will sign on the "wrong" side of the page.

Something else that happens to us quite often is that we'll get a picture with 2 characters, but they'll sign on different pages or they'll sign on the same page but there will be seperate pictures. Just something to think about. :)

Either way, you might want to be prepared to take your autograph book and make a mini scrap book when you get home.

Momtoaprincess,
you might go over to the creative community board, under scrapbooking and ask your question. There are alot of folks over there who have done this and are very creative and helpful.
