We currently have a booking at Fontera but hearing so many good things about homecoming.

Has anyone been to both? Which one is better in your thoughts?

While Frontera is very good I would pick Homecoming hands down. You can't go wrong with either it just really depends on which menu appeals to you the most. The fried chicken at Homecoming was out of this world as was the Hummingbird cake.

We went to Homecoming last month and were not that impressed. We have not been to Frontera.

We loved Homecoming, best fried chicken!
We are trying Frontera this summer because we heard such good things but we are doing both lol

We went to both last month.
Liked them both.
DH didn't really care for the fried chicken, would try something else next time. He is trying to get over House of Blues taking it off their menu ;)
Frontera was very good. Very loud where we sat.
Service at both was great.
We would go to both again.
So it depends on which menu appeals to you the most.....of do what we did and go to both

We have done both. We really enjoyed Homecoming and will be returning there often. We enjoyed Frontera but it wasn't as good as Homecoming. If we go for Italian food, we head for Il Mulino next door at the Swan.

My family ate at both in October and our favorite was Frontera. Frontera had really good guacamole (and I don't normally like guacamole); I could have eaten the whole bowl by myself. We also had the chicken tacos and carne asada tacos and both were really good. I would highly recommend Frontera. We liked Homecoming (the service was good and the restaurant looked nice), but had mixed results on the food. The hush puppies and fried chicken entree were both really good, but the fried chicken sandwich was kind of generic and the fried chicken salad was weird (I think it might have been sitting out for a while because everything was room temperature/warm).

We went to both this past week - Homecoming wins hands down, and we didn't even have the fried chicken! I had the barbecue pork platter - comes with mac and cheese and a biscuit - and loved everything. My husband had the chicken and dumpling soup, and the shrimp and grits and he loved both as well. Somehow found room for dessert - I had the hummingbird cake and my husband had the shine cake. The hummingbird cake was definitely the winner here, and I'm going to try to find the recipe for this, as well as the soup. At Frontera the appetizer was the winner - had the arepas, and they were delicious. For the main course I had the enchiladas, which were very blah. I had two bites, and then just ate the cheese off the top. My husband enjoyed his very much though. He had the carne asada and thought the steak was excellent. No dessert here - went to Ghiardelli for ice cream. So much more to pick from at Homecoming, and everything that we had was great. I'd go back just for the cake! Can't see going back to Frontera - we both liked the food at La Hacienda in Epcot much better.

I'm not going to be a huge help, but I enjoyed both of them. Loved the bootlegger, fried chicken, mac-n-cheese and hummingbird cake at Homecoming. Thoroughly loved the shrimp enchilada suizas at Frontera and can't wait to try the guacamole.

Went to Homecoming in October for dessert one late afternoon - 6 adults. My DH and I split the Hummingbird Cake and each had coffee. I think this was one of the best desserts I have ever had - next to the breadpudding at "ohana. My BIL and SIL had the Pecan Pie and said it was wonderful.

We are heading down in May and plan on having a full meal there. Cant wait.

We liked both as well, I would do Frontera again before Homecoming. As others have said, just go by which menu appeals to your tastes more.

I am happy to see that many liked both. We have ADR's for both of them next month. I am excited to try some new places as we always tend to keep returning to House of Blues and Raglan Road. My husband travels to Chicago for business frequently and he has eaten at many of Rick Bayless' restaurants and considers them the best Mexican he has ever had. I can't wait!

Just following up on my comments above; we returned to Homecoming for the third time last week. No issues at all and the food/service was as good as our previous meals there. Highly recommend this place.
