Okay, I will add details later but I am SOOOOO excited that I will be going to WDW for FREE in October!!! Traveling with a group called People & Places that takes people with disabilities on vacations. This will be a unique PTR because it will be a joint report with myself, DannyDisneyFreak aka Magic Man and EnglishRose47 aka Rosie-Sam... Each group has 2 escorts to accompany 8 people, myself and my friend Cathleen will be escorting one group and EnglishRose47 and he companion Carol will be escorting the other...
Okay, I have compiled our introductions and am editing the initial post to put the intros first! Enjoy our journey with us!

I'll start off by telling you a little about how Dan and I discovered our mutual LOVE of Disney!!
As you all know we do work together and have for about 9 years give or take !!Unbeknownst to me in my early Dis years Dan was reading a ptr of mine and started to put the pieces together and realised I was a co worker !!We planned a Dis Meet in the Falls that year and have talked Disney on every occassion possible !! This of course became more frequent when I started working part time at the House he now manages !!
When he heard last year that I had become an escort for the FREE trips he wanted in !!So of course I highly recccommended Dan to the Agency and he will make his Debut in June at Lake George with Carol and I .
This week we discovered that the one gal at the house who we thought was going to Disney with Carol & I in October was on a waiting list !!! Long story short I called the Agency and got her Dan and Cathleen on another Disney trip the same week !! Then after volunteering him waited to hear his response when the agency called !! Over the Moon is a mild way of explaining it !! I know the cogs are turning as Dan plans his trip !!
So although we will be there the same time we each do our own thing and see how our paths will cross !! This promises to be a double super duper planning plot !!! So join us for the ride !!!

So without further ado let me introduce my half of this joint effort

This Carol who is also my boss or at least one of them . Since our last trip Carol has been promoted to Assistant Director We have successfully seperated our Escort Adventures from our Professional Relationship which could have been problems if we didn't

Carol is also making a trip next month with her Mom and son Drew. Drew is attending college to study "ANIMATION" so this first trip to Disney will be amazing for him!!
Carol successfully planned this trip with NO help from me . I am soooooo proud of her Carol is the THRILL seeker . She will ride anything , I am the planner!!!

Here I am Rosie the Seeker of Hot Italians, Poles, and Pigs Laps !!

In this corner weighing in at a slim-looking 210 lbs is The Magic Man Dan!
If you have not heard the story from Rosie's Sweet 16 PTR they I will tell it later about where the Magic Man name came from. Here is me with our favorite magic mouse!

I met Rosie (who from time to time I may refer to her as Sam because it is her nickname I am used to) about 8 or so years ago in the group home where we currently work. I had left the agency and she had went to work at another home so I had not seen her for a while when one day I'm on the DIS and I find EnglishRose47 who is from Niagara Falls! I had returned to the agency and work as a site manager and Rose works part time for my house. Soooo... Carol is Rose's boss at the agency where she is a manager, I am Rosie's boss at a different agency where I am a manager AND to introduce the next character in this tale is Cathleen who I also supervise at my job. If your confused that's okay, hang on you will have fun I promise

Cathleen is my BFF and we have worked together for the past 5 years and last year I was promoted to become manager (but I let her pretend to be boss sometimes) She has never been to Disney and she is super excited!

I am not so sure that Dan just let's Cathleen think she's the Boss !!I met Cathleen on St Paddy's day about 7 years ago when she first started working for the Agency !!We worked together for well over a year or maybe 2 and let me tell you she is one dynamic young lady and totally devoted to the people we serve !!

Every year Dan and Cathleen take ALL 5 girls on a weekend camping trip, as in Tents .. I think that nominates them for some sort of an award !!So these Free Trips will be like LUXURY to them !!!

Hey I warned you guys this is gonna be a fun one !!!!

Yesterday at The First Communion Party ,I discovered that my DSIL's company prints the brochures for the People & Places Vacation so she was thrilled to hear I was going on some of them !!

Hey Sam, have we explained what People and Places is yet? No time now, I'm off to Mother's day with the fam at the casino buffet

I think ya'll realise that People and Places is the name of the organization that sets up these trips !!Each year they send out a brochure with all the trips listed to group homes etc !!! People with Dev. Disabilities get to choose the ones they are interested in and send in applications . From that the Company tries to match up people with their first choices when possible and the price they pay for the trip includes the price of the escorts trip !! So if 8 people go the Escort portion is split between the 8 . While the Trips are not cheap they are all inclusive and they stay at really nice hotels etc. They ask us (the escorts ) to try to avoid the fast food restaurants and expose the people to a little better type of dining !!The escorts have a pretty wide range of choosing the activities , for example at The Elvis Lake George , obviuosly we go to the performances everyday, but we don't have to stay for the whole time , we can leave to go somewhere for lunch, shopping or sightseeing. Then there is a Brunch Cruise as well. !!At Disney it is almost intirely up to us !! This year for me we will have the Safari planned
The only expense the escorts have is personal souvenirs !!!So you can see why the 4 of us being in this Field absolutely LOVE it !!!
