We had free installation with Brinks/Broadview which is now ADT. We had to get a 3 year contract to make it free which is around $30 a month. It includes 2 door panels with the alarms and the window and door alarms if the glass breaks. We didn't get the motion detecter because we have dogs and they walk around all day and would have set it off. We went w/ Brinks because they had in-state monitoring and ADT out sourced theirs, we ended up with ADT anyway!

I saw others talking about it on the Disboards a while back. Looked into it and bought it. It's by far the most inexpensive system, and yes it works. It cost us about $250 to purchase, and we set it up very easily on our own. It's wireless, you don't need a home phone line. Monitoring is $14.99/month without email and text alerts, or if you want alerts, it's $19.99/month. NO CONTRACT. And if you move, you can take it with you.

We have been very, very satisfied with ours. Our alarm went off last weekend when we were out of town. When we didn't answer the call from them, they immediately called the police and all 4 people on our contact list. I have no complaints.

No offense, but how do you know that a sensor is going bad or if someone enters your home when you aren't home? Just wondering because I've never heard of an alarm not being monitored.....

My next door neighbors have an alarm that is not monitored and honestly I don't even bother looking when it goes off- its gone off a few times and now its just sort of like "oh there goes their alarm again" and no one even bothers looking.
I had a system installed for free but pay for monitoring- I actually just was going to get one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up " alerts for grandma but found out it was not much more to just have a whole alarm system put in that included that. I have sensors on both doors, 15 windows but chose not to have a motion detector put in due to pets and grandma who would roam around the house at all hours of the night! Every once in a while I call the alarm company and they run a test on the system including the "I've fallen and I can't get up" button so we know all is well.
