I lost my voice.....not sure where I left it :confused3 I'm on day 3 of laryngitis - and it is KILLING me. I've never been this quiet in my life! I feel perfectly healthy...not a single symptom other than this.

I tried to go out quickly yesterday & finish up some Christmas shopping, but I couldn't survive without my voice. I felt rude & people looked at me like I had some awful contagious disease.

And to make matters worse...my text messaging died again. I can't text & I can't even call to report it!! :headache:

Hopefully this passes soon. At least I can DIS ;)

A spoonful of honey will make it feel better, but I don't think it will help the laryngitis. I had it years ago over Thanksgiving. My sister served as my translator and boy did she and the rest of the family think it was darn hysterical. "So, TELL me how you've been"; "SPEAK up if you want cream and sugar in the coffee", etc. They were so cute. :rolleyes1

Hang in there, you're probably at the end of it.

I'd try a warm salt water gargle. I like hot tea, Lemon Zinger or Peppermint is soothing to me (with a little honey). Mostly rest. Hope you heal quickly.

I get complete laryngitis at least once a year. My doctor tells me to not speak at all, even whisper, but that never helps it get better faster. Sometimes I have to take something like prednisone to reduce the inflammation around my vocal cords. I usually have it for several days.

12 years ago I had laryngitis while in labor with DD. The nurses thought it was hilarious that I could not yell out with pain! But that's OK, I got them back. I was in the hospital another 3 nights (C section), and everytime I needed something, they couldn't ask me over the speaker, because I couldn't respond. They had to come running every time!
