Hey listen,

I know that this whole thing has got you down. And, I know the fight to keep VMK open is still going strong (keep it up). But I thought it might be fun to just imagine what life would be like for our little virtual people if VMK did close.

So since you are all making flats anyway, get your camera out and let's have another old fashioned DisBoards flat "contest."

aengus is right in a way. The best way is to show. You take a real picture

Then in (I use PSP7) or photo shop. And you can make the picture look like a fake miniature

Here's my "coping through humor" submission...

I thought you might be talking about that tilt/shift lens stuff. Nah, none of that and no Photoshop trickery either. It was a regular old 50mm f/1.8. When you open the aperture up nice and wide you get a shallow depth of field of like that. It's a good way to isolate a subject because it throws everything else out of focus.

In this case I probably over did it. That's probably why it looks like a "fake miniature" to you.
