Home from the Halloween Magic Cruise

Hi Everyone,
We got home Sunday. We stopped in St. Augustine and spent the day doing the trolley tour. I had such a great timeon the Halloween cruise. The costume's were great and so were the "dis" people. Ginger is such a fun person to be around, and she makes a great guavaberry colada. The weather was perfect and we loved Coral World and Coki Beach. I am going to do a trip report and alink to lots of picture's soon. I got sick as soon as I got home, sore throat, fever, congestion, chills. But I won't complain because I had the PERFECT cruise. I am so glad I did not get sick until I was home. I also met Shirley and Norm from "The Perfect Gift" They are the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. Thanks Shirley for my beautiful roses. You made my birthday even better.

Teri, hope you feel better!

I really miss the ship too! And now I'm trying to figure out where to put all this candy we brought back!!!!! It's all sitting on the kitchen counter!

I think a separate group for the 13-15 year olds is a great idea! My DS is 12 yrs old but is very young for his age; he'd never survive in the teen group from what I'm reading! Hopefully some of you included that recommendation on your questionnaires.

Hi Teri,

We had 2 people from our group of 13 that became sick when they got home also. Hope everyone is feeling better.

I didn't say anything on the questionaires concering the teen groups but I guess I should say something to someone. WHO???

My laundry is done, now to get to all those pictures!!!

I have 225 digital, and about 5 throw away cameras.

Oh, I just love the lotion they have. I even brought some back for the girls I work with, along with some chocolates!!!

I did but the Guvaberry stuff. WOW!!! It could take the paint off walls. Guess I really need to mix it with something!!

I did include the Stack problems in the questionaire and have posted about it here and will post in a separate thead hoping that someone will read it from DCL. I'm also going to try and find out who I should contact at DCL. The ideal situation would be to move things around and use spaces that aren't used often for the new clubs. Do the Promonade and Sessions ever get crowded? Could move the arcade somewhere else and add a club there? There has to be a space they could find to divide the clubs.

I did 9 loads of wash. I don't want to go need the laundry room anytime soon. It takes just as long to unpack as it does to pack it seems.

My family and I also were on the cruise and everyone had a lot fun........All I know is my son has more candy then most stores in the area thanks to the wonderful Dis'ers that were part of the stateroom trick or treating.

I'm still doing laundry!!! I have to admit I took it easy yesterday because I was so tired. I just finished unpacking the last suitcase this afternoon. I can't believe it's taking so long but I'm blaming it on my post-cruise depression!

Good idea to start a new thread re the 13-15 year olds. Surely, they could find space somewhere.

Hope everyone's feeling better!

I agree with y'all about having a separate club for the 13-15.
My DD is almost 12 and should go in that group, as she is the
PTDQ(PreTeenageDramaQueen) and takes ballet and other dance with that age group girls.

Hope it works.....

Hi everyone! We got back on Sunday afternoon, and have been busy doing laundry as well. Well I guess we were not the only ones to get sick as well. We decided to spend an extra day in Orlando on Saturday and it was suppose to be a day of relaxing. However my son TJ decided to change that. He started with a slight cough on Thursday night, and by Friday at dinner his cough was worse and he had a sore throat. Playing Doctor I decided it was just from drainage and gave him some cough drops. He went to bed around 9pm and at 3 am was waking up crying:sad: His ears were hurting. So after we got off the boat, got our car and drove to orlando, we found our hotel and asked if they knew of a urgent care. They gave me a flyer for a clinic that will come to your room. That's fine if we had a room. It was only 9:30 in the morning and we couldn't check in till 4:00 pm. Tj wasn't going to make it till then. So we went and spent an hour in the ER fast track and then had to go get his antibiotics. He had middle ear infections in both ears. Then we get home and on monday his cough is worse and he call from school saying his ear hurts again. So I take him to his Doc and the inner ear is getting better but now he has swimmers ear(outer ear) in his left. Good news is that the cough isn't in the lungs so no wheezing yet!!!! And Alan our oldest came home monday with a low grade fever and stayed home yesterday with a cough. I sent them both today because they have off tomorrow for Vetern's Day so they can rest and get caught up on homework. Hope everyone is feeling better!!!

I agree with you guys about a 13-15 yr old group . My oldest wouldn't go to the stack at all because the kids didn't seem very friendly. I went up once with him and they seemed to all between the age of 16-18 and hanging all over each other on the couches. I also agree that I got tired off kids running all over the boat, knocking on doors, ripping off decorations, and just plain sitting all over the steps. If they want to hang out then go to a club or one of the empty lounges or even just hang out on the open decks. Not were everyone is trying to walk.

What types of things do they do on Halloween night? Were adults in costumes? We are cruising next Halloween! Any tips are appreciated! Thanks!
