home from POR!

We are home after a 6 night stay at POR. Thank you to all that recommended POR, it was wonderful! We have found our Disney home! We had such a great time! Before we left I couldn't decide if we should pay the extra money and stay at AKL, but many recommended POR as a great place. We went to visit a few other resorts, we decided that Animal Kingdom Lodge is not for us, too dark and the african music began to annoy us after a few hours visit there. I think we'll stick with POR next visit. Thanks for your help!

Glad you enjoyed POR. We consider it our "summer" home away from home. We have stayed there every year since 2000 and teice in 02 and going back this August and over Thanksgiving.

Did you get a chance to see Bob in the lounge..If so, was it crowded. ? Also, did you see or hear of any renovations going on ?

POR is just so "centrally" located. Not a long ride to anything.

kinggoofy, there was an area of POR shut down for renovations, however they told us that they would NEVER shut down an entire resort to renovate again...it was difficult on the staff and guests, they have now decided to do it in sections. We had an awesome corner room overlooking the water. We walked by the lounge three evenings and never saw the piano man, I never asked where he was, but missed him each time. As we checked out, my husband said "can't believe we never got to hear the piano guy you kept looking for". Strange! The place was empty, it was a great time to visit!
