We had given DH's cousin and her DD (11) a choice of weeks to join us in Florida and so, last week, we were at BWV (4133-4135) and VB (2331-2332).

kathleena was visiting with her 10 yr. old DGrD and it was such a pleasure to spend our first full day together at Typhoon Lagoon. TL is my favorite water park. I mostly enjoy the lazy river, wave pool and Shark Reef, while the rest enjoyed all of the slides including the new one. In the evening we joined them again for fun at MGM. It was on of the extra magic nights and there was a special showing of Fantasmic at 10PM.

We had a pretty long walk to our villa, a 2 bedroom that had a view of the Tower of Terror across the canal. We used the balcony a lot in the morning, and I appreciated the view. There was a question about the phone in the studio, at first it seemed to be not turned on, but this problem was fixed, and on our last morning, Wednesday, they even got a wake-up call to their room only. I wasn't sure if that would be possible. DH and I appreciated the jacuzzi and we used it!

At the Member's Block Party we also met disgirl and her lovely family. I wish I had had more time to socialize with them. I can understand making plans to meet for a meal, or at a pool, and I hope we get another chance to be together. DH and I got one of the lovely 5 minute massages given by the SSR spa staff.

DH had heard about Katrina, I hadn't, so I was more surprised by the very windy meal we enjoyed at Capt. Hiram's in Sebastian on Wednesday evening. Our guests had a great time, and enjoyed the s'mores at the campfire on Wednesday. Thursday morning was fine for swimming, but the weather did deteriorate with lots of rain and wind. It was intermittent so we did get a round of mimi-golf in, just before the skies opened again! They showed Pirates of the Caribbean on Thursday night. Friday was departure day, but Katie joined the Turtle Troop and they walked the beach in the morning, 7:30 - 9:30. She was excited to share what she learned. They went into some previously hatched nests to see the infertile eggs that were still there. This made an impression on Katie, who informed me that the sex of the turtles is determined by the position in the nest, with the females hatching from the eggs at the top of the nest.

Our rooms at VB were ocean view and connecting, and that was nice to share breakfast goodies without having to go into the hall.

It was hot, but we still had lots of fun. We drank lots of water, and did take the afternoons off from the parks. Debbie and Katie, our guests went to Universal on Tuesday, and enjoyed themselves, but made it home to spend time around the boardwalk, including seeing what they could of Illuminations from outside Epcot.

This was our second stay at BWV, both have been in 2-br, sv. If anyone has a question to ask, I'll try to answer. We got both AP's and DDE on this trip. The temporary DDE card had to be picked up at guest services in the front of Epcot. We had misunderstood and thought we could order the card on Friday night when we arrived to stay offsite, and went to DD to buy the AP, but we were told we had to call the required number from 9-5 M-W, so we didn't have the card over the weekend. Not a problem, just something I hadn't understood.

Now we have a small wait until the members cruise. :flower:

Hi Bobbi! Glad to hear your Vero stay was great!

It was wonderful. The only thing we didn't do was have a beach day, because the winds were too strong and the surf was up. I did check out the "VB Beach Chair Pass Along" stuff, and the things are ready for the next person to receive.

As we were leaving the resort yesterday, the beach chair concession was setting up their things, so I guess yesterday was a fine day as well at VB.

Hi there, welcome back! We're staying in a 2BR sv for the first time next year, would you suggest your room location? Thanks!

We will be at BWV for the first time in just a few days and that was my question as well. I would like a ToT view if it is not too far from the elevators.

Our villa was not close to the elevator. I don't think it could be described as "convenient" because even though it was close to the steps, I find it difficult to walk down steps and DH finds it difficult to walk up 4 flights, so we had to use the elevator even to go to the pools.

The room wasn't ready when we got to BWV at 10, so we went to TL and didn't bother calling to see if the room was ready until 5, when we began thinking of leaving TL. We had the layout of the resort, and the room has one of the longer walks from the elevator. The Boardwalk View wing seems to have some rooms with longer walks.

I didn't think the walk to the room from the elevators was bad. The view was very nice (if you didn't look right down into the air conditioning or utility units) and I'd take the room any day. The Tower of Terror was off to the right, and the supporting post on the balcony did block it's view if we were sitting, so I don't want to steer anyone wrong. It's a balcony that has a "side" view, a narrow area that you can lean on to directly view the ToT. As I sat on the chairs on the balcony, you can easily see the pond with the ducks and other birds, and notice the babies struggling to keep up with their parents. In the distance is the road with traffic, so it is a "standard view" but it is a very nice one!!

Glad you had a wonderful trip. Thank you for posting your report. It bring memories of "Home" closer! :)

That does sound like quite the nice room location, thanks! Both times before that we've stayed at BWV we were in the Crest O' the Wave section, so we don't mind a long walk!
