Home Depot/Rona

Hi. Which one do you prefer? I don't want to do alot of running around, price matching when we get supplies to redo our home. Right now we want to go look for paint, small tile backsplash, wood like blinds,kitchen flooring for now.
We are trying to stick on a buget and try doing it week by week.I am a bargain shopper too.

Well I prefer Home Depot but I believe Rona has a better selection on the things you are looking for.

We just install laminate wood flooring for 87 cents a sqaure foot. And it does not look like cheap flooring. So that was a much better deal than Home Depot. And there cheap flooring looks cheap.

I prefer the Home Depot as well but I do go to Rona if there are good deals and they do have airmiles. The home depot is good for installed items (i.e. carpet, decks etc.) and the prices are sometimes better but for he most part the prices are very comparible with eah other. Oh and the Home Depot has the disney paint collection so that seals it for sure.

We were a Home Depo family, untill Rona built a huge store near us! We also bought laminate for .87, and did two rooms in our house, much nicer than the cheap laminate at Home Depo. We find ourselves going to Rona first, then if we can't find what we are looking for then we go to Home Depo. For paint we have been using Debbie Travis's paint at Canadian Tire, good quality and good price!

Hi again. Ok, for yous that bought your laminate flooring from Rona, here is a few for you.
What colour of flooring?
Do have to be an expert to install it?
What kind of tools, and is there much cutting?
We got thier flyer yesterday and noticed the laminate flooring. Its sounds like that is where we are going to buy. But DD17 and I want to paint the cupboards, counter, and put in a backsplash.
Maybe if I am good, I can ask Santa for a new round kitchen table for christmas.

We got the red oak colour, it seemed the nicest to me, we installed it ourselves. There is some cutting involed, this is the second time we have installed laminate, we did it in our other house too! On skill scale of 1-10, it is around a 4-5. Definetly need two people!

We tend to use Rona if we can. More Canadian products and they give AirMiles. We use Home Depot only if we can't find something at Rona.

We use HD for just about everything mind you I think it has more to do with one of my best friends being the GM of the store near us and giving us very generous discounts on everything. Kinda like the 30% discount he gave us on our new windows for the house.

I live right across the road from Rona in Simcoe and I go out of my way to visit Home Depot!

At our old house we had Home Depot do a brand new kitchen for us and install all new widows and they were super to work with....all staff were fantastic and the job turned out beautiful!

Hi again. Just got back from Home Depot but went to Rona first and bought nothing. At home depot DD17 picked out a real nice brown shade of paint for our cupboards and also picked out a sample of counter top that we could probably copy off of to paint that too.The sales lady said that they even have Benjamin Moore paint chips to use too.They were so helpfull thier, DD and I did alot of dreaming Home Depot. Now I just want to go design and decorate a new home for us.
