Got back Saturday after 3 weeks in Orlando, and now after 3 days back at work it feels like I was never away
We had a fabulous time, and after spending a lovely day looking round some of the Disney resorts, we are now considering our first ever onsite stay next year :cheer2: Let the planning commence once again :rotfl2:

Well, I liked the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, my DBF loved the Yacht and Beach Club, but I think that would be a little out of our price range

We liked all the resorts we looked at, as they were all so different.

I loved the Beach Club, even more so because I didn't have to pay for it way hey! I worked for a US company (from here in Scotland, it was Internet based) that had an owner that loved Disney World (great guy by the way) any how he paid for me and my wife to stay in the Beach Club, was magic... bit of business in the morning for me (lasted like 3 hours max, that was the conference and the justification for holding it at Disney LOL) and rest of the day and night was yours however they did take you to restaurants and pay for all your food way hey again ;) Did I tell you I loved that job, anyways the big plus points for Beach Club are, walk to Epcot, boat to Epcot or Disney MGM and at night walking around the boardwalk so I am told by my wife is very romantic, ok it was but I am not saying that :)

Sadly next time I went to Disney I had to pay to stay at the Wilderness Lodge myself (company I worked for sold the year before and new mean bosses didn't want any staff outside of US or Canada even thought I won the top sales and support award in the company, go figure) anyway that was a great hotel, lovely and the swimming pool was magic, plus it was a boat ride to Magic Kingdom. Can't fault the place, in fact most of the Deluxe Hotels are like staying in a 5 star hotel without being made to feel like you have to dress a certain way and believe me I don't I earned my money and a dress how a like thanks very much LOL ;)

Anyways my wife and I where speaking about this today, this year we have 2 rooms at Animal Kingdom Deluxe Savannah View as well, kind of a special holiday as we are taken her parents and her sisters along also. But Hotel wise looking at it, the "Budget" hotels are actually ok, clean and more geared towards family's. The moderate are to me very good as well, from what I can see, I went to the Port Orleans by mistake once and I thought this place is actually really nice. Anyway the Deluxe ones I say Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom are more the family side of them and Beach/Yacht are young couple/business types, but don't get me wrong you have a cracking time with the family but with the price difference being a bit stepper I say WL and AK are the way to go, mind you not been to AK yet so maybe I should wait before I make that judgment LOL.

I think one thing is true, no matter where you go in Disney it's still just a room and everyone no matter what hotel they stay in gets the same thing as the guy paying more, and the point of going and that's the parks.

By the way when I was a kid we went to Butlins every 2/3 years and never aboard, and I used to think that was the coolest holiday ever (and it was then actually), so I guess as a kid you don’t know or care what the room your in is like and as parents you should be bloody proud that you can afford to take your kids to Disney even when they don’t act very grateful 7 days in when they start to feel the heat and over excitement catching up with them ;)

my two favorite resorts at WDW are the GF and the WL....the WL is the least expensive of the deluxes and so a wonderful bargain........
just put me in one of those two resorts and i'm in 7th heaven....actually i've never been unhappy in any resort at WDW (and i've been in many of them).....you really can't go wrong, whatever you pick....
