Home again, thanks to Ezyshuttle!

Hello!!

We are home after a rather more eventful journey than we expected, but home all the same! Serious traffic issues in Paris (apparently they are all going away for the bank holiday weekend ) meant that our driver was stuck in traffic so we got a replacement driver who arrived about 10-15 minutes later. This in itself was not an issue, except for the fact that John was worried because the predicted journey time was now an expected 2 hours 10 minutes instead of the usual 40! Our driver could have got a part in the Stunt Show or at the very least driving a yellow cab in New York, he used every trick in the book to get us there in time, and in fact with time to spare. Even taking our luggage trolley himself to our check-in desk to make sure we got on our flight ok. I admit I had to close my eyes a couple of times but what can I say, he did the job! All this despite DD being car sick for the first time in her life John kept in touch throughout to make sure we got our flight ok – great service!

Quick Summary of Highs & Lows in advance of the TR which I shall attempt to start this weekend...

Highs
Mickey at the hotel when we checked in, DD was just so excited!!!
Meeting Rapunzel
Lack of queues
HNY- I love the smell
Meeting Rapunzel
New parade characters
Cafe Mickey
Trying lots of things for the first time (Casey Jnr, Big Thunder Mountain, Star Tours, Cinemagique, Parachute Drop – never again, Slinky Dog, Studios Tram Tour, Snow White & Pinocchio)
Meeting new characters (Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Marie, Winnie The Pooh, Baloo, King Louis, Sully, The Beast (as a prince), Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum)Ezyshuttle (note re: eventful journey!
Did I mention that we met Rapunzel???!!

Lows
Auberge in terms of value for money (E60 and no longer includes photo pack OR wine!)
Rain (but it didn’t rain the whole time)
Character scrums in Studios (worse than before, we walked away before DD got SERIOUSLY hurt)
One or two camera issues (forgetting the SIM card, losing the battery charger..!!!)

Although 5 days gave us the time to do everything we wanted without rushing, I’m not sure I’d stay that long again. We were all shattered, particularly as we opted not to take the buggy. DD coped really well with all the walking and seemed to keep going like the Duracell Bunny but tolerance levels were pretty low by the end of day 5 IYKWIM

Overall a GREAT trip!

Marie?! I am now VERY jealous. I hope she's about next week. The Aristocats is one of my favourite films.
How was the queuing for Rapunzel? Was it as bad as I'm imagining (hours of LONG!)?

I couldn't believe it when we saw her! SHe was doing a VIP meet & greet in the bandstand and they opened it up afterwards for 10 minutes or so, complete bedlam as you can imagine!! She was in the parade too, I was so excited it was ridiculous!!!

We queued for about an hour to meet Rapunzel I think.The queue was made much more bearable by the presence of Flynn Rider wandering along! I would recommend getting there early as it moves slowly because she was just so lovely and spent ages with everyone!

I'm so pleased you saw Marie - she is so sweet and really should be a permanent fixture seeing as she's a French mademoiselle.

And now I'm intrigued as to what the smell of the New York is?

All the new characters seen in Stars n cars on Wednesday and Once Upon A Dream Parade on Thursday were flown in from Tokyo Disneyland esp for Prince Farah, he paid around 1 million euros for this. The characters (Marie, Bullseye, Lotso etc, new costumes on some characters) are all being sent back so do not get your hopes up in seeing them again in the park. This was just for a special event and request by the Prince.

I saw this on that character blog (can't remember exactly what it's called) and thought of all those lucky people who got chance to see them - wish I'd been there on these dates!

Can you imagine being so wealthy that you could fly all these costumes half-way round the world just like that it's a shame the Marie one didn't get accidentally on purpose left-behind.
