Home again! Highs and lows 25/9-28/9

aw gutted about the weather for you least it will be warmer and drier in WDW. fingers crossed

CBCO sounds great wish I had booked that for our trip next month, does anyone know when its closing?

Sorry I don't know when it's being cancelled I woul ring and see if you can book it was brilliant.

Hopefully it will be warmer we are goin in February though so it will be warmer then home!

Welcome back :)

Love those cute pics of Elsie with Jessie princess:

The Pluto message is fantastic - a lovely memory to keep :goodvibes

It's an amazing keepsake I hope she likes
It when she's older and reads it her self.

So sorry to hear that your trip wasn't as great as you'd hoped :( but the note that Pluto wrote is just adorable :goodvibes

Im sure I'll forget all about the bad bits soon and be looking to go back lol!

That note from Pluto brought tears to my eyes. Your daughter is adorable

Aw thanks can I ask you about the 7 night med cruise it's the one we are looking at booking. Did you enjoy it would you go again? X

I love the photos with Elsie and Pluto looks like that was a real highlight sorry the rest of the trip didn't quite live up to your expectations though. Enjoy the planning for the next two trips xx

You quickly snuck in there whilst I was replying.

Pluto was just amazing I hope dave hurries up and edits the videos so you can all see x

The rain was terrible :( nothing like last year when we spent the entire trip in shorts and t shirts. I layered Elsie up in our March trip long sleeved vests tights, leggins. Its so warm inside though whilst waiting in the new meet Mickey it was so hot!

That is the thing I am not looking forward to in Nov/Dec - layering up like a michelin man then having to strip off in restaurants etc. We had great weather end Sept but just goes to show, you can't tell sadly!

The best Pluto is a definitely Elsie's favourite she hasn't left her soft toy Pluto alone since we got home.

The message from Pluto is soooo adorable - what a sweetie to write that but then Elsie has to be THE most adorable little girl I've seen on here - did you get any photos of her Mickey outfit - it was inspiring!! Jessie dress was amazing too - she looked super cute :flower3:.

I understand they have to see every one but why dont they just have more characters just like they used to last September we saw twice as many characters.

Down to budget I am guessing. We've only ever done lunch at CM and it's been OK - apart from last time when I did feel character interaction was rushed. Was really hoping dinner this next trip would be a bit better in that area...!?

We barely saw anything but Main Street USA Elsie was so excited by the castle we just walked around the central hub area pointing at it lol!

Ah bless - my DD1 was the same her first trip - I think if we had took her all the way there and only shown her the castle then gone home, she would have been fine :lmao:.

September last year was amazing and I think the weather just had a hge impact makes every where seem busier more people waiting for rides more people waiting under shelter.

CBCO was amazing I guess because it is so quiet in there its just not making enough money such a shame it was by far our best character meal ever. Just worried Elsie will expect Pluto to always do that now.

I would also think that come winter it will be hugely expensive to keep it heated as it's so large and doesn't appear that well insulated - perhaps it might return next Spring? It is a shame though, I am with Rosebug, it is one of the best character meals we have ever had, and probably one of the cheapest too! So pleased we managed to do it before they stop it

Nope we didnt meet a single princess on this trip. The day we arrived PP was at 60 minutes I considered it but we were all so tired from getting up at 2am we were only really in the park for our passes, something to eat and waiting for 3pm for our cabin. I didnt ask about Rapunzel City Hall was always busy and she was so happy just wondering around I didnt want to take her away from her exploring :)

Gosh Leanne, I am surprised you didn't see any Princesses! Shock! When we went in June we saw Jasmine leaving the WDS courtyard area but she was mobbed so we didn't even attempt to see her. Shame though as DD2 would have been made up to meet her. Some people seem to have been lucky seeing Princesses leave the PP but if there are huge queues in Nov/Dec we won't stand about in the cold waiting that is for sure. First trip where we are not doing Auberge too so it could be a Princess free trip for us too (meets that is).

Minnie Mouse in March at Cafe Mickey was amazing! She sat with Elsie fed her picked her up cuddled her. This time she came over pointed at her dress, signed her book, posed for a photo and was gone! Didnt see her again. :( Inventions Elsie was dressed in her Mickey Mouse costume we saw Mickey in the room where the food was so we waited and waited. Waited 40 minutes after finishing food didnt see him then he was gone. We couldnt wait any longer as we wanted to get a spot for Dreams. That was disappointing.

The halloween decs are amazing I loved them! I cant wait for this Halloween to take Elsie trick or Treating.

I loved the decs in previous years, so pleased to see them back again to some extent with the twist of ghosts on Main St - lovely! If Nov goes well I am going to try and persuade DH to do a Halloween trip Oct 2013 but it really depends how Nov goes - plus I want to get as much use as possible out of my shareholders card and be able to keep telling my DDs we own a speck of dust there which won't happen in 2 years time :sad2:

Davy Crockett Last year we had a new cabin it was perfect the size was great 2 good size bedrooms 2 shower rooms lounge/kitchen area was big enough for all of us to sit in. I think this was actually an older cabin.

Hmmm, I know very little about DCR - we did consider it a good while ago for a longer summer trip but it never happened. I had read somewhere that the older cabins had better space but obviously not!

Dave said before we arrived we could go for Christmas but that would be it for atleast 5 years at first I was gutted but now I'm excited for WDW and our potential cruise. I am sure you will have a great time on your next trip.

Thank you! I just hope all goes well next time - I think because we are going with my parents, we will have a great time no matter what - family around you makes all the difference :grouphug:

I havent got any photos of Elsie dressed as Jessie Dave, mum and dad have though. :)

Thanks for the photos - as I said earlier, adorable! Would love to see a pic of Elsie in her Mickey outfit too if you have one - it was an ingenious outfit :)

The cruise was amazing ... if I could manage it I'd be back on the boat next summer like a shot (the dates don't work for us next August as there is a family wedding right in the middle of it) - we were in the inside cabins down on deck 2 so almost the cheapest cabins possible - we went with my sister in law, her two kids and my mother in law. Everything was great ... if you decide to go for it let me know and I'll give you my top tips - including a great hotel in Barcelona which was really family friendly and not too expensive. It felt like the trip of a lifetime but I'd love to do it again.

Well I am struggling to get flights at a good price at the moment or I would of booked today. Flights quoted from easy jet are more expensive then what we have paid for WDW x

Blimey that's not good, we got flights with easy jet for £90 each last summer, that was flying from Liverpool

really now thats tempting, we are going 30th October - 3rd Nov but had made all my adrs or so I thought could I sneak in CBCO ???

Yeah I need to go on the laptop and have a good look! Virgin quoted me £3,800 for the holiday more then what we paid for WDW for 2 weeks!

I know I can't believe she is 19 months old next week x

We were a little uncertain in July as to when we'd return again, we had hot weather (very hot) but with 3 children in tow including a grumpy hyperactive 1 year old we find it really tiring. By the end of the 6 nights we were shattered and were glad to get home. However, starting last month we started thinking about the place again. My little boy (2 in Dec) saw some photos and said 'Mickeys House' (we thought he wouldnt remember) and our heart sunk. We'd had 2 fantastic trips beforehand and DLP to us is our secret getaway! We dont know many other people that have been to DLP let alone as often as we are and so even if we just getaway as a family it makes us happy. I think as the trips go on, you look for different things. We dont rush round trying to do everything. We take one thing at a time and just do what we want each day. Some days we didnt set off to the park till 2pm!

Give yourself some time and your views will change and Im sure you will then know whether you want to go back again. Elsie is only young so you have plenty of time! x

This was my 14th trip to Disneyland Paris and I just didnt feel the same buzz there like I have before. I am glad they have Dreams but if that is where all the money is going and the rest of the park has to suffer things being closed etc I would rather go with out it.

Trust me we took it slow in 4 days we only rode 3 rides Its a small world, Buzz Lightyear Lazer blast and Pirates of the Caribbean. We couldnt of done it at a much slower pace. We walked at Elsie's speed and barely left Main Street as she was so happy taking it all in.

But when you go to a character meal (and they aren't cheap once Elsie is 3 we wont ever go because I am not paying nearly 30 Euros for her to eat nothing) and the characters just stop for a photo and sign your book its not worth it. In March Minnie Mouse sat with us and fed Elsie and was just brilliant. The year before Stitch got on the floor with her as she could only crawl was brilliant. I know there are a lot of people there and they have to see every one but I just think we had it so good before we were sorting of expecting it every time. If we hadn't of been to CowBoy Cookout and had it save our holiday I dont even think I would of posted on this part of the board ever again as I was so disappointed with Disneyland Paris. The smoking, the cost of everything just seemed ridiculous, the souvenirs were so similar to the stuff in the Disney Store, the park opening at 10 yet some rides being closed till 11 - 11.30, the scrums.

I know I will come round to the idea of going back but I just don't think I can twist DH's arm any more he has never enjoyed DLP after going to WDW.

DLP to me though is some where really special I went there with my grandparents who are now longer with us and just feel like it is some where special to me.

The main park to me is beautiful the castle is just gorgeous but the Studios is just well to me it looks like an industrial estate. We spent an hour there is that. The character meet and greet there is so poor and so is Stars and Cars. Just nothing there for us to want to even go in there any more.
