We are thinking about taking a day to try Holyland Experience next year. Anyone have thoughts about it?:surfweb:

Seems like there are quite a few people interested in comments for this... anyone been there?

my mom, sister and niece went there 2 years ago. I however opted out. My mom enjoyed it. I cant really say the other two did. But then again it was a very hot day when they went. We are going back to disney this year and my sister says mums the word to mom about holyland...lol.

My grandparents said they loved it and thet there are lots of things to do such as see plays and such.

We enjoyed it when we went about 4 years ago. Our group consisted of my husband and me plus our daughter (17 at the time) and her best friend. All of us thought it was great, and we plan to go back again.

Hate to be a downer, but we went just this past December, and I wouldn't really give it a recommendation. I think since it's been bought by Trinity Broadcasting, it's not quite as good as it once was. Even at Christmas time with the few things we saw, we found it a bit "cheesy". We didn't meet any of the street characters except for a bunny rabbit ( didn't really get that...)

It was kind of creepy to me to go into the cafe to see the Trinity Broadcasting Station blaring from the tv with one of their shows going. The whole time we were there we were thinking that it seemed like someone making money off of God's name and the history of the Bible. Not at all what we anticipated. The employees weren't very friendly, either.

When we left, we noticed the nativity scene out front with piped in music playing. The statues of the animals and all were very old, and it really just looked campy and cheesy---not respectful of what it should have been--KWIM??

I will say that the one and only thing we enjoyed was the walk through display of the old translations of the Bible. I just really feel that someone is making money off this, and it's not a good thing!

When did it change hands? Their website seems different than when I looked a year ago.

Grant Jeffries did a few of his TV shows from the Holy Land Experience early this winter. That is about the time I think it changed hands.

I don't think we'll go. I am intrigued by the model of Jerusalem and the Temple, but .... :confused3

A client of mine went last month and they really enjoyed it and said it was worth going to.
