Booked one night, one room, two park days at Royal Pacific for the 5 of us and it's over a 1000 dollars! :scared1: Disney, we have six nights in two rooms, dining (free) and 5 day tickets for $2800! Wow, I hope US is good...

What date and what size room? Park tickets included?

November 26th in a standard room. 2 day base tickets included. I think it's the shortness of the stay that's really killing the price!

Yup...it would be the same thing if you were planning a short Disney trip...on a major holiday.

Yep, it's the short trip and holiday time. We just returned from a 7 night stay at RPR the room with park tickets was less than $1600 (not in a package) for the three of us.

We had the same thoughts about Disney this trip (we love Disney and had two extra days) but just could not afford the $600 cost of tickets for the three of us to spend two days in the Disney parks. :sad2:

Universal is awesome, you are going to LOVE the express pass!!

I agree..Must be the short stay combined with the holiday..My 7 night stay in a King suite for January only is costing me $1500

???? I can get disney delux (OKW) for $2536 14 days july 2012 not including tickets (30 june= 14 july so is over 4th july) but it does include 1 table service and 1 counter meal for 4 adults per day(DDP). Iickets are an additional $1329 but that is for all 4 parks hoppers with water parks and disney quest for all 14 days. so that works out at $276 per night for all 4 adults including tickets and food (with one TS meal and 1 counter lunch per day) -ie $69 per person per day. I would really like to spend four of these days at US/IOA staying at HRH OR RPH FOR A SMILAR AMMOUT (even with only 1 meal per day) - Where should I look for that :confused3

edited to add the length of stay would make no diff to price when I booked it was $276 per day as lomg as booked at least a 5 day disney ticket - very willing to book a 5 day Universal ticket if I can get the universal hotels includding food for about this amount

I'm not the expert on the resorts since I don't use them but I think most people would say do the hotel and tickets separately...it's usually cheaper. You can get discounts with AAA and annual passes for the hotels. There are some ticket specials out there which are a pretty good deal...I think it's for the Costco tickets.

Just looking at the website, you can purchase a four day ticket with park to park access for $155.99 plus tax...so that would be $623.96 plus tax for the tickets. Checking the hotels rates for the HRH from July 5-9 (I just picked some dates) it looks like the lowest rate is $355.10 per night for one room and four adults. That would be $1,420.40 plus tax so now you're at $2,044.36 before taxes and any discounts. The RPH is a bit cheaper at $287.15 per night plus tax. So that would be $1,772.56. Remember...each person would received unlimited Express access during the stay which is golden in the summer months.

If my math is correct...you are about $500.00 (for the HRH and over $750.00 for the RPH) under the $2,536.00 figure you mentioned.

Someone who stays at the hotels and is more familiar with their rates will have to check my figures.
:rolleyes1

No able to work this out - My $2536 included 1 counter service and 1 table service meal per day for all 14 days - what was the figure above that you mentioned(the $750 less than the 2536 ) was that $1786 for 14 nights - If so where can I book RPR at $127.6 per night and does it include the 2meals as the disney booking will? :confused3

At Universal, if you get one annual pass it will cost you $260.
That will get you a room rate of $212.80 at the RPR for 4 adults.

I would also be waiting quite a while for discounts to come out. You could book now and then adjust the rate when discounts come out.

I didn't include any meals but that was the total for the group. Are these four people all adults or older children? Plus you also mentioned you wanted to go to Universal for four days which is where those figures came from. You don't get free meals at Universal but you get a valuable benefit...unlimited Express.

Exactly what kind of budget are you looking at for four days Universal? I saw on another thread you were asking basically the same questions so I'm a little confused as to what you're actually asking.

At the moment we are paying $181 (including tax) total per night for disneys OKW this is for all 4 of us Me, DH and DD's ages 14 and 19 - It includes 2 meals per day (1TS and 1 counter). We want to go for a few nights to universal but my DH has said that he is not paying more per night for a hotel (of a similar stand.) if its not even covering food the way the disney hotel is. He has by default therefore agreed to pay up $181 for the room for all 4 of us with no food- not sure he see it that way but if I get it for $181/night I will have booked it before he finds out :rotfl:

I would almost be willing to bet that you will see and do more with the Express Pass at Universal than you will in the 14 days at Disney. Don't underestimate the value of bypassing the regular lines during peak season. I would hate to have to deal with the math because there are so many options to save money if you read these boards. I really hope you can talk your husband into a trip to Universal. We did a one day trip from Disney several years ago, and Universal has become our primary vacation spot.

Ok but that's a *spectacular* deal on OKW. Especially including a dining plan. it's too bad he's extrapolating an amazingly good deal to a totally different theme park, and expecting them to be exactly the same.

The normal price on that same vacation, if you book through the US website, is over $8000.

2 day park hopper tickets to WDW (2 adults, 3 children under 9) would be over $1000. And you'd be sleeping in your car.

Universal is always the cheaper vacation for us, but I am comparing the poly to the Hrh. We stay CL at the Hrh for less than the GV room at poly. Tkts to Universal are always cheaper also. There is not a big difference between 3 day tickets and 7 day tickets. If you were staying 7 days at Universal. I bet the cost would be about the same. How did you manage to get a room discount and free dining?
