I have been avoiding the Disboards ever since I got back because it's just not the same being on them knowing you're going to Disney, then coming back and knowing you're not... Hence my new made up word... Dis-pressed... lol
Here goes... Sept 22-29th 8 day MYW hoppers with dining plan...AKL Savannah View- Ostrich Trail Rm 3120.. Me (Crazy Disney freak, so crazy that DH thinks I need professional help), DH, and our 2 friends (had a room right next to us)
I'll start off by saying that we originally we going to stay at Caribbean Beach resort, but in April I think it was, I found out I had some secret pin code attached to my name and so I got 40% off my choice of Disney Hotel. Well DH always wanted to stay at AKL Savannah View, so that's what we picked. Saved us over $1000 than what regular price would have been.
Our flight was 7:30am out of Newark and we arrived early actually at Orlando. Very crowded airport and Magical Express. (Don't think I will ever travel to Disney on a Saturday again!)
Saturday Sept 22nd...
We arrive at AKL at about 12:30pm. Our room was ready right away, our friends room right next door was not. We immediatelly went to the room and there was 3 giraffes, 4 brown bigs and like 4 horned animals right outside the balcony! (And you know what?! thats the last time we saw that many animals outside our room!)
Also, I must note that Sept 22nd, the day we arrived, there was only 4 love bugs in sight. The day we left, Sept 29th, it was like a plague! More on that later....
We decided to play some roulette and decide where to go by what bus came first (MK or EPCOT) and it was EPCOT! Thank GOD, cause EPCOT is my favorite!
We did Test track and most of world showcase. Did I mention I LOVE EPCOT!? LOL!
We went back to AKL and tried to get an ADR for Boma. We waited 90 minutes but that's OK cause we just hung out at the bar. Note: Didn't really like the food at Boma. Felt like I wasted a dining plan credit when I could have used it for someplace else. Just my opinion..
Sunday 23rd- Went to MK, ate at Pecos Bill for Lunch.. Love the burgers. Knew that cheese sauce was no longer at the fixins bar. Asked for it and they said I couldn't have any because I didn't pay for it! But they gave it to my friend for free! grrr
Then we tried out Tom Sawyer's island. Havent done that since I was a kid. Did pirates, etc.. etc... We had ADRs for Le Cellier at 6:40 so we headed back to AKL, showered and got ready for Le Cellier. I LOVED IT!! Probably best place I've eaten in all of Disney. Watched Illuminations, took our time leaving Epcot, which is the best thing you can do. Watch the crowd rush out and just hang out there and get a snack or drink and enjoy World SHowcase.
Sept 24th.. MGM We don't really like MGM, so today was just a fast day. Had ADRs for Sci Fi... It was cool, not worth it if I would have paid for it without dining plan. Did I also mention dining plan is probably the best thing ever invented!?
Just eating counterservice costs us $29.. and the dining plan was $39.. it just makes so much sense to get the dining plan.
Anywho...Left MGM about 4pm went back to Akl and went swimming at night.
Sept 25th ANimal Kingdom... We all love AK .. got there early, rode Everest 3 times.. yes 3 times!!! in a row! No LINE!! Sept is the best time to do to Disney!!! at about 2pm I called 407-wdw dine and made ressies for Morocco for that night (SO EASY!) They had 8:30 available. Morocco is AWESOME! Also, drank a little too much that night, but it was fun.
Sept 26th.. Had ressies for 8:10am crystal palace...
Very cool.. Got lots of pics... DId more of MK all day... Ate at Germany for Dinner.
Sept 27th
Our friends went to Universal, but we decided to do EPCOT all day. We took our time and did all of future world and all of World showcase. Also the food and wine festival started a day early so we got to enjoy some of that too! Ate at Mexico for lunch and ate at Nine Dragons for dinner. at night we went swimming and hot tub.
Sept 28th- Did Epcot in the AM again and then around 4 went swimming at AKL pool. Went to Mickeys not so scary tonight!!! 3rd year in a row we've been going. LOVE IT! Loved the zombies walking around lIberty Square. Very cool.
Sept 29th- Epcot (yes again!) for lunch, Did mexico ride again and ate counter service Mexico. Had three counterservice credits left so we got some sandwiches for the airport. Got a retro EPCOT shirt today too.
I MISS IT!!! And the love bugs were in SWARMS THE DAY WE LEFT!
