Holy Cow! Grape pop tarts are back!!!

I've never been a big pop tart fan, esp. all the new flavors that are hybrid types--smore, etc. I used to LOVE grape pop tarts and would keep them in the fridge because they taste better cold. They tapered off until only Kroger had them, and then years ago they disappeared altogether.
Today at Meijer DH said there was a sale on pop tarts and I looked at the display--HALLELUJAH grape pop tarts are back! I'm in absolute heaven.

I used to love Pop Tarts growing up. Especially the frosted strawberry, cold or toasted. They were expensive for us, so only an occasional treat.

A few years ago it seemed to me that they'd altered the recipe or something, and they didn't taste good to me. We've never bought any since.

But if you love the grape ones and they're back, I'm glad for you! Seems like anytime a person finds something s/he really, really likes, it either gets changed or discontinued.

My kids (and my husband, for that matter ) are crazy about the new French Toast flavored Pop Tarts with the syrupy center. I haven't had one myself but they sure do smell good in the toaster!

Are they frosted or unfrosted? I do not like the frosted pop_Tarts and the only unfrosted ones I have seen in a couple of years are Strawberry. Used to be I could get blueberry as well. If grape is not frosted and makes a come back in Cincinnati I will surely give them a try.

Sorry, they're frosted! I know what you mean though, it is next to impossible to find non-frosted pop tarts.

Does anyone remember the peppermint pop tarts? This was in the mid- to late-70's and they had a chocolate crust and a pinky white filling and frosting. I guess I don't remember the grape ones but they sound good. I'll have to look for them next time I'm in Meijer.

Love the NON-frosted type. We can get cherry and strawberry here in NJ. If the grape ones were available, I'd be all over them.

I was just thinking back and yes, grape Pop Tarts were a morning staple at my house. Grab a pack for the bus and eat 'em raw. I do like frosted grape ones, but I'm also a fan of unfrosted strawberry.

My family thinks I'm a major loser for eating nonfrosted Pop Tarts.

I have to send a package of brown sugar cinnamon to my ds everyweek. Yuck...... I do remember the grapes not being too bad. I will have to be on the lookout for them.

LOL! You sound like my DH! He LOVES PopTarts. His favorite are Frosted Apple... Kellog's doesn't make them anymore, and we can only find them at Giant (Giant Brand). It was like he won the lottery when he found them there! LOL
