Boy I miss the days when we could book Burlington, Vermont to Orlando for under $200! I'm trying to convince DH to take a quick trip down to see the Christmas decorations (we were just there in July) and we got a great passholder rate at POFQ but the airfare is giving him heart attacks! $500 each! Does anyone think this might drop at all or is it just going to go up? He has to use up vacation days and I REALLY want to do this at WDW rather than at home!! ;)

Tell me about it. The prices of the flights I want keep climbing every day! It's gone up $40 within the last week. I keep hoping that I'll find something cheap last minute or we'll just stick with the original plan and drive.

Did you consider flighing out of Rutland? It is about an hour 45 min from Burlington, but I checked JetBlue and it was around $400 round trip, Puddle jumping to Boston. It may be a lot -Driving to Rutland and a much longer flight, but I thought I'd throw it out. Maybe it worth it. Have fun if you go!

I am flying out the Saturday after Thanksgiving from BWI and flying back the following Saturday.

I watched the airfare carefully and snagged it for $192.00. A friend of mine, going down with his family, paid about the same.

I checked a few days ago and it is up to $488.00 round trip and there are only about 10 seats left on the plane - and we are 13 weeks out!

JB released their fares for President's Day week and I almost choked. Over $500 going down and $600 coming back per person. It would have cost more to fly than the cruise cost.

I'll check it out - Rutland is about 1 1/2 from us and BTV is about 50 minutes, not that big of a difference. Thanks!!!

ETA: Ugh, I'm getting $531 pp. We have to leave after I'm done teaching at 3:00 so we can't get there before 5. I'm going to keep looking, though!!

You're very lucky, that's an excellent price!!! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that something changes, or I'm going to have to do some fancy tap dancing to convince DH that we can go!

I'm dealing with exactly this issue - we have a Norwegian Cruise booked for President's week, and airfare is outrageous right now! Not sure what we're going to do if I can't find a deal.

I would keep looking. I just snagged Continental for my son and grandson for mid Dec. for $168 RT out of Newark (not convenient for you, I know). I just checked every day for several weeks. Good Luck!

Wow, that's really good - 168! It looks as if we can get out of Manchester, NH (2.5 hours away) for about 350. We would just have to get up at a horrifyingly early hour to drive down or drive down the night before and stay at a super cheap hotel. Poor DH, he gets rattled so easily when I give him all of the alternatives so I have to be careful not to put him off of the whole idea but do all of the legwork first then present him with the cheapest option. I had read somewhere too that in September the airlines start reducing unsold seats for December, has anyone else heard that?

We just booked out of Manchester on Southwest - it's a bit more expensive than the other carriers, but that nonstop is really attractive after our last fiasco coming through Newark in July!!! So, it looks like we're on our way!! Thanks to everyone for their advice and good luck to others who are working on their flights!!

You are getting pretty close to Christmas. Can you go a week earlier?

Tell me about it. We are flying Los Angeles to Orlando. We booked in July for our trip in december. We are going BEFORE chirstmas (15th-21st). When we booked we paid about $410 RT (not direct flights) on Southwest. I looked at the flights again last week and we are up to about $540 RT.
1 week later to go over christmas, southwest wants $650 RT with 2 stops.
When airfare costs half of what you are paying for the disney portion of the trip, thats bad.

Fares tend to go up on the weekend when people are home and have time to book travel. Keep checking prices, but see if fares go down early next week. I usually get sale e-mails from AirTran on Monday nights, and the fares are good through Thursday that week.

Aaarrrgggh! I just checked Continental and the flight price is EXCELLENT. Only problem? DH is sleeping b/c he's has to be up at 3AM for O/T tomorrow and I don't dare wake him up to ask if we can buy airfare for our trip. Keep your fingers crossed for me!! I hope the prices stay the same by tomorrow and we'll be paying less than $750 R/T for the four of us out of EWR.

I waited until my husband got home from work
to discuss the flight I wanted to book and by the time he got home
(maybe two hours) it went up by $100 each. I was so mad at myself for
waiting! Maybe you should "accidently" wake him up;)

I just did mine a few days ago. I have 240 times 4 round trip from BWI to MCO. I did add on the early bird coming home for an extra 10.

I was hoping for cheaper, but I was too afraid to wait.

I am happy with it overall because it is done.:thumbsup2

No way!!! One, he's a cop and he needs all the rest he can get. Two, he has a gun and he might be pissed enough to shoot me over waking him up:rotfl:. (No, he really wouldn't shoot me, but why take the chance?)

Okay , bad idea. Well at least it can be his fault if they go up
cause you were just being nice and letting him sleep.
Really, I doubt they go back up that quickly.

$168/each RT out of EWR for me and my nephew. I wanted to go out of Allentown since it's closer to me and more convenient, but i couldn't beat that price. Along with the 30% off POR Dec. 11th - 17th, the trip is costing right about $1000 for the both of us.
