We have ressies to eat at H&V in March and I wanted to know if anyone has eaten here recently? Our ressies are for 6:15. All opinions are greatly appreciated.

We were there in December and it was okay. Not great, not good, just okay. Nothing was horribly wrong yet nothing was really outstanding.

I do have a review on my blog with a few pictures (link in my signature) under the restaurant reviews on my blog. Hope this helps some. :)

I agree-- It was just okay. Nothing spectacular, nothing horrible. We might go back, might not. We're kind of indifferent about it.

We had Thanksgiving dinner there this past year. I thought it was VERY good...had a lot of good and different foods. Desserts were to die for. Service and cleanliness were both good as well. We were a party of 12, 6 adults and 6 kids.

HOWEVER, it was Thanksgiving and they had some additional/different menu items out for the occaision. Overall, it was a nice meal. :)

It's a big buffet with lots of choices. I love the 50's decor and the "attitudes" of the waiters and waitresses!

I always order a chocolate shake and then pour half of it into an empty water glass. Then I fill my "half chocolate milk" with vanilla ice cream from the dessert area and it makes an awesome chocolate milkshake! I keep adding my other half of the chocolate milk with more ice cream and it's like getting 2 milkshakes!

tried it twice, first time ok, second time just AWFUL. will never eat there again!!! Noisy, underwhelming service (not too fast on cleaning the table of dirty dishes, refill on drinks) just nothing good to say at all. But that's just MHO - your experience may be different.

Here's the thing-the food, was basically cafeteria food (bunch of eggs sitting in a metal pan etc). Nothing unique/unusual. Mickey waffles- but not necessarily fresh or hot. However, we didn't pick it for the food. At the time, we went because our 3 yr old loved Little Einsteins. If your kids are in the Playhouse Disney stage (JoJO's circus, little einsteins etc) then they will love it. The characters do a parade with the kids.

we ate there in october as part of the F! package and i found it really good- and im very fussy and cant eat some things due to my colitis. now that being said this was our first time of the free dining and before that we had only eatten at two or three disney restaurants while there. so i dont know why everyone says this or that place has gotten bad.

there was a lot of selection for dinner and dessert. we also ate at an off hr at 345 in the afternoon. so maybe that made the difference.

Big selection of food, and it was ok. Wouldn't make my top 10 list of "must do" eating at the World. Like other posters have said, nothing terrible to say about it, but wasn't anything special.

However, that being said, if your kids really like Little Einsteins it was fun for my girls to parade around with them during lunch and there's really no other place to find these guys for pics and autographs unless you happen to find them outside Playhouse Disney.

We have eaten there multiple time. It is a good buffet, as in number of selections, quality, etc. But it is definitely "Kids Out Of Control Alley". If you can stand the noise, don't mind little ones at the buffet eating off of the serving spoons to see if they like it, and wondering where the parents are when you see some of the things you will see, jump right in.

This would be hilariously funny if it weren't so true! :rotfl:

H&V is BY FAR the worst meal I have ever had at Disney. It is the only restaurant in all of WDW that I truly would never eat at again.

I've eaten at H&V twice and it was pretty good both times. I enjoyed the salad dishes in particular as they were so fresh. The desserts were great too- more choice than Crystal Palace.

this thread is making me laugh. We can't stand buffets, but our two kiddos are obsessed with Playhouse Disney characters, so of course we'll go to Hollywood & Vine. Likely for lunch (DS is allergic to eggs so we don't do breakfast buffets).

From what I can tell, the only reason to choose it is for the characters, for the Fantasmic dinner package. I doubt anyone is at breakfast or lunch without little kids with them, lol

are the characters at dinner, too???

I thought they were only breakfast/lunch but could be wrong. My son, loves and loves is a huge understatement, Little Einsteins. I was going to book a dinner, but didnt' see the characters. We've gone for breakfast and it was your typical disney character breakfast. I don't want to do lunch, as we have 50's primetime booked, but if they are at dinner, I may have to book.

We ate there last year. My GF's daughter loved it, she was 5 at the time.
The rest of us, including my then 14 yr old D., didn't care for it.
Food was just ok.

i dont believe so because on nites when the F! show is going on, it's part of the dining package. if you book that nite with them or the other two participating restaurants you get "preferred" seating. almost a trade off. also we ate at 3:30 pm for our supper and there were no chracters...the upside, lots of food and few people!

No characters. We were there last month for dinner. Definitely not worth it in my opinion if you have somewhere else to go. :)
