hollywood&vine, why so many bad reviews?

I can only attest to the breakfast there. We went Aug, 2009.

THe character interaction was fine. The food, though, was horrendous. We were one of the 1st families in. I would have thought that is when the food would be at it's freshest and warmest. The eggs and bacon were cold. The bacon wasn't cooked well at all. All our juice drinks were warm. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either. I remember walking out of there very dissatisfied and hungry.

Overall, we were not impressed and won't be going back.

My family of four will be visiting WDW in a week and a half. Our children are most looking forward to this breakfast, as the characters currently listed for this meal define what Disney is for my DS2. Handy Manny, Einsteins and Special Agent Oso ARE Disney for him and he is beyond excited to meet these characters at a meal. I'm prepared for bad food and service, as long as the characters are there.

I have breakfast adr for hollywood&vine (my daughter loves handy manny) but on the boards I see that it gets alot of bad reviews, is it really bad?

We have gone several times now and we think the breakfast is great. One of our favs actually. I love the strawberry sauce they have for the waffles. Everything is great we always enjoy it. The only bad time we came across there was a server. We did not have charging priviliege on our room keys and my husband forgot to write cash on the receipt and she tried to ring in her tip on the room card. Thank goodness we did not have charging because who knows what she would have put through, but that is the only bad time we had. We always had great character experience here with great food and the server was only one time out of a handful of times there.

OP, to answer your question, H & V gets so many bad reviews because the majority of posters here think it is bad.
I can only speak for dinner, but it is one of only 2 restaurants in all of WDW that we will NEVER return to.
We were surrounded by dirty, unbused tables. Our waitress was RUDE. The hot food was not hot, the cold food was not cold. The Ladies Rooms was filthy.
Never again.
