Hollywood Video closings

I was by a Hollywood Video and they have signs up stating everything must go. I did not stop in but does anybody what the sales look like? I know the company is in bankruptcy. Just curious?

Both stores near me closed. I went to one of them as they were at about 40-50% off. We got some decent deals on DVDs. Most of the good video games were already gone by the time I got there though. They had different discounts for newer movies vs. older ones. Most of the older movies were like 3 for $15 or less. The newer movies were mostly 30-40% off I think. These were all rentals. They also had the brand new movies on sale for about 40% off. I think they progressively increased the discounts as time went on, but I didn't go back again since most of the good movies were already sold.

Our Hollywood video is closing and the signs say 20-30% off,but i haven't gone in the store yet.

We had two close around here. The first one i didnt find out til they were almost closed NR were 3 for $15 and old movies were 3 for $10. the other i went to as soon as they started selling started at 3 for $25 for NR 3 for $20 for older rentals i think and pre viewed and new unopened movie were 30% off. they were still renting at this point so not all movies were for sale. then it went to 50% off for previewed and new. by the time they stopped renting all the good movies were gone

Apparently they were bought out by a company called Movie Gallery a few years back, and that company is now bankrupt and closing all 4700 locations they had....

Ours just put up the 20-30% closing signs. Hubby wanted to check out the video games but we have some more stuff to get for vacation before I can think about spending on games. I guess we should go look if the games sell quickly.
