We are a family of 4, dh 7 ds2. Other than toy story are there any other family friendly rides at HS? I have a half day in my schedule but I'm not sure if hs is even worth that. We aren't using parkhopper

You will have to decide - as far as rides your 7 year old will probably be tall enough for Star Tours. The other items are shows and character meets - Indiana Jones, Disney Junior characters, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Frozen Sing a Long, Muppets and of course Star Wars.

We can spend a whole day here and of the 2 rides you definitely will not do with the kids we only do one (Tower is terrifying for all of us - one and done for our group). We like the shows and there are some fun restaurants so it is a relaxing park day. The evening shows are great - Fantasmic! and I haven't done the Star Wars Fireworks yet but can't wait to in April!

However, if shows are not your thing that would be a consideration. Star Wars is the other consideration as this is the only place to get that if you have a big fan.

There really are no kids rides at DHS. There are only 4 rides (is it 3 now?) to begin with. The rest are shows. Until SWL and TSL open, there is simply not much there unless you love the shows over and over. The best entertainment are the street performers.

There is a grand total of four rides at DHS. There are some shows and greets that are nice too. As much as I still enjoy DHS, I don’t think I’d mess with it without hoppers.

Without PH option and given the current state of DHS, I would suggest skipping it this trip. Add another day at one of the other parks.

assuming you've been before and plan to visit again in the future, i'd skip it this trip.

There are limited rides there but the park is so much more. For boys there is the Indiana Jones and the Star Wars Stuff to do. You can do a full day on the shows easily. What characters does your son like? There are a LOT of M7G's going in there now. You could easily find out if one of their favorites is there.

I think it is still a nice stop to make. We go to WDW often and may visit other parks for more than one day on any given trip, but HS is still worth a half day / day. Depending on the season we may sleep in a little later that day, go and ride the rides / see the shows we like and then spend the afternoon swimming in the pool and / or go out for a nice dinner / see a dinner show. It allows for you to do those type of things without being totally exhausted.

My kids 5 and 3 enjoyed it last year and we are planning a day there our next trip. My son loved the Star Wars meet and greats, the Jedi training, and the star tours ride. My daughter’s favorite was the frozen sing along and meeting Olaf.

Toy story mania was a lot of fun! We also enjoyed the muppet show and little mermaid show.

Is your 7 y/o into Star Wars at all? My kiddo that age loved Jedi Training, Star Tours, meeting the characters (Chewbacca, BB-8 and Kylo Ren when we were there last week), watching the Storm Trooper march. But if there's no major Star Wars fan in your family, I agree it may not be the best use of a ticket day with no hopper. Unless you'd like to do a short day with pool time.

We opted to see Fantasmic when we were there two weeks ago. The buzz on the way out of the park, though, was that the SW Fireworks were the best on WDW property. They are a low display, so we didn't get to see them as we were walking out of Fantasmic to the main boulevard.

We spent a full day there and still missed some things (my DD is 8). Star Tours was a favorite - 3x in all. We enjoyed the shows although we missed Beauty and the Beast. It was our first day at WDW so we also spent a lot of time doing character meet and greets - Star Wars, Chip and Dale, Goofy, Olav, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Buzz and Woody. My daughter thought she was a little too cool for the Disney Jr. characters though. I think it may depend on what you think your little one can handle. There will definitely be more things at MK.

No, my dd will be 7 this trip and hasn't seen Star Wars. My ds2 is afraid of storm troopers. Thanks for your reply.
